the pentagon only counts troops who die IN Iraq. if they are wounded and are flown out of iraq then die, the deceased is not counted in the death total. the total is much higher.

10. Actual U.S. body count is much higher than 800.

These are only soldiers who got killed by direct military action, and died in the field. It does not generally count:

a) soldiers wounded in battle, but died in a hospital.
b) mercenaries under U.S. pay.
c) "accidents", like driving into a wall because someone is shooting at you. The "accident" rate is proveably much higher in Iraq during wartime than in the U.S. during peacetime for military personel.

Mercenaries are not US troops, so that figure SHOULD be separate.

Lunaville has counted deaths by accident, as has the DOD.
