With Fallujah as example, what are the odds Bush can claim success...?
by November? It appears they have pulled back from Karbala and al-Sadr then pulled back from the city also. The violence in both cites has subsided. What if this strategy actually works in other cities around Baghdad, after all, that is where most of the trouble spots are located, will that permit Bush to claim success in bringing "peace and democracy" to Iraq? Will he brag that Iraq is in the process of rebuilding their country as a democracy? What are the odds of this being the reality in November?

1. Remember, the Iraqis live there...we don't.
The militants are gathering a lot of information about our methods and weaknesses. The sacrifice of the lives of their fighters is something they ascribe to for the greater good. These people are putting up a pretty good fight considering that they have few weapons and nothing to compare to the highly sophisticated arms we have. But these people are not stupid either. So far, their intelligence has proven superior to ours. Sadr seems to be responding more to Sistanis request to leave the holy sites rather than something that the US did.

2. Nah ...
Its already too late Ken ....

I really dont think George Bush can be 'rehabilitated' among independents and conservative democrats .....

The lies will STILL be lies ...

The failures with STILL be failures ... even if they eventually emerge with some measure of 'success' ....

Karbala is a wilderness, but those militia members are mostly in hiding .... they arent all dead ....

“To plunder, to slaughter, to steal, these things they misname empire, and where they make a wilderness, they call it peace.”

— Tacitus
Roman historian
c. 55-120 A.D.

5. But the more the Iraqis kick Bush's ass and the more successful they are..
in keeping peace in Karbala and Fallujah, the more Bush will take credit for it. The reality is that they have forced Bush out of these towns and are successfully running them themselves. Bush will try to call a defeat a "victory" and because no one will be dying, because we have withdrawn from the towns, the people will see it as an improvement from the present situation.

3. This Fallujah?
The international community is saying that we committed huge war crimes there. Let Bush campaign on that.

"Doctors from the General Hospital of Fallujah, as well as others involved with clinics throughout the city, are reporting that U.S. Marines obstructed their services during the fighting that engulfed this city in April. They also said U.S. snipers intentionally targeted their clinics and ambulances in the city during the siege."

"He told of one instance when, he believed, the clinic came under fire inadvertently by U.S. gunmen. "One day they were attacking the Al-Jazeera cameraman who was on a nearby building in front of the clinic. So when they shot at him, the bullets came near us."

4. But there has been no reported violence since we withdrew???
And that is what will be reported. 'The fighting has ceased' and make it appear that it is because of the policies of George W Bush.. How will that be reported in November? That is the question.

seems to be the issue. People in Fallujah would not be happy until America pulls back to America....
