MORE bush* photos.....after full face-flop.....
Edited on Sat May-22-04 09:01 PM by amen1234
...the bruises will develop soon....

President Bush (news - web sites) waves as he arrives in Austin Texas for a graduation celebration for his daughter Barbara Bush Saturday, May 22, 2004. President Bush suffered cuts and bruises early Saturday afternoon when he fell while mountain biking on his ranch and had minor abrasions on his chin, lip, cheekbone and knees, White House spokesman Trent Duffy said. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)

Bush was wearing his bike helmet and a mouth guard when the mishap occurred. Duffy said he didn't know exactly how the accident happened.

"It's been raining a lot and the topsoil is loose," the spokesman said. "You know this president. He likes to go all out. Suffice it to say he wasn't whistling show tunes."

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=4&u=/ap/20040522/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_injured_2

The incident occurred two days before the president is scheduled to give a prime-time speech to lay out what aides are calling a "clear strategy" to stabilize Iraq (news - web sites) and build democracy there.

Duffy blamed loose topsoil for the spill, but also suggested that Bush had been riding hard, noting the president is "a fitness enthusiast" and adding that "he wasn't poking along, whistling show tunes."

Bush previously fell off a Segway -- a motorized, two-wheel vehicle -- while visiting his parents in Kennebunkport, Maine, in June 2003 and suffered scrapes to his face when he fainted and fell after choking on a pretzel at the White House in January 2002.

I think Bush has been beaten by somebody, has to be either mom, dad or James Baker, at least twice now when he won't do as he's told or is so blitzed and stupid that they can't make him understand in any other manner that he's ruining the neo-con world domination project.

69. If he went over the bars, where you hit is pretty much random
I hit a dog that ran out in front of me and went completely ass over teakettle. There was no time to tuck or do anything. Landed on my shoulder and the side of my head. Fortunately I was wearing a helmet so it cracked but my head was fine.

And, as someone who used to ride thousands of miles a year in groups of all sizes, I've never seen anybody wear a mouthguard for a normal ride. Even mountain bikers don't normally wear them -- it's usually for downhillers only.

71. Yeah.. why are his hands always fine..
.. but everything else is smashed up? I never could figure that out.. did he pass out again? His knees, chin, and nose, and cheekbone. Knees? How would those figure in a fall like that? But didn't put his hands out to break the fall?

How utterly convenient that his personal physician was mountain bike riding with him... that's a little wierd in itself. I know I frequently bike ride with my personal physician by my side.

Bush 'Seizure' Answer to his Awful Press Conference Performance?

TBR News | April 25 2004

"Vice President Cheney is the de facto President of the United States. When he arrives at the White House for one of his "briefings" of the President, all employees are cleared from the West Wing and especially from the Presidential office suites. Cheney arrives in an escorted armored limousine surrounded by his own personal, heavily armed bodyguard and is always shown directly into the President's office. It is reliably reported by that Bush has a thick pad of lined, yellow note paper on his desk, placed there by just before the Vice President arrives."

"After Cheney's departure, the notes taken by the President are transcribed by and prepared as talking points for the President..."

"At some time in the past, according to both and the President suffered what one of his aides called "a very minor seizure" and as a result of this, the President has a very difficult time following any unscripted conversations. For this reason, his staff carefully and aggressively protect the President from "unexpected" questions that he is not capable of answering."

"The President takes oral medication at least twice a day according to because of an unspecified "indisposition' and this subject is strictly off limits for any casual staff conversation."

"At one point during a staff conference, the President stood up and began to speak in an unknown language. Mr. Rove was able to stop the President and get him to resume his seat. It was reported by that for a period of time (about fifteen minutes) after this incident, the President appeared to be 'somewhat confused and very inarticulate.'"

84. If he is having seizures,
then American citiznes have a right to know. We are voting on men who we are told are healthy. If there is a health issue that is hidden and if a health form is filled out not stating that health issue, then it is a lie - which is an impeachable offense (not that it would matter to this Congress - lying only mattered to the last Congress). Double standards ought to be the Republican motto.

94. That would explain his religious fanaticism
Inspiration for this work has come from a group of patients who have a brain disorder called temporal lobe epilepsy. In a minority of patients, this condition induces bizarre religious hallucinations - something that patient Rudi Affolter has experienced vividly.

Look at the photos of him waving.

Dirty fingers. Dirty palms. Dirty hands.

Why does this man have a beaten face and dirty hands?

Oh. He "fell off his bike" did he? When, seconds before the photos were snapped? Yeah, that it.

The guy is a drunk! He has lousy hygeine, falls on his face often--and really, how many people do you know who scratch up their face so often?--has trouble concentrating, and often says things that are innapropriate to the gravity of the moment.

But still... you would think his handlers could make sure he washed up a bit before waving to the world.

93. What kind of IDIOT?!?!?!?!?!

Wears a mouthguard while mountain biking BUT .....

He apparantly wasn't wearing GLOVES!!!!!!! You can clearly see from these pictures that he hand bandages on his right hand from breaking his fall.

Now I've taken MANY, MANY spills on my mountain bike. I've gotten MANY, MANY cuts and abrasions. But I've NEVER gotton any cuts on the palms of my hands. Why????

I, like every other sane cyclist, ALWAYS wears two protective items.

1) A helmet
2) GLOVES!!!!
3) NEVER A MOUTH GUARD!!!!!

The reason is simple. If you fall, you will use your hands to break your fall. Gloves means

It's incredible to me that a man would wear a MOUTH GUARD while biking, but not GLOVES!!!!!!

My gut tells me that Bush didn't get his cuts and abrasions while biking. It's just a cover story. He did something else really STUPID!!!!

After WHATEVER happened. The Rovians thought about a nice cover that would make the president seem like a "rugged individualist" instead of a stupid drunk. Ahh, mountain biking. And they had to think up some explanation why his pearly whites weren't damaged during his face-plant ... MOUTH GUARD!!!!!

My guess is the dumb-ass got drunk and ran into a wall.

102. Does he wear a mouth guard due to seizure disorder?
I have been an avid biker for over 40 years and never heard of mouth guards for bike riding- only for sports like hockey or boxing. You are right that gloves make more sense. I have seen pics of him wearing gloves to chop wood. This leads credence to the seizure disorder stories since that would certainly be a reason to wear a mouth guard.

Stupid for spokesman to feel he had to use the rain excuse. I have had more bike accidents from loose gravel or dry leaves than when it was wet- but simply out of common sense because I avoid bike riding in wet conditions as do most responsible cyclists.
