PNAC'ers view Chalabi as a convenient scapegoat for Iraq mess?
Is Chalabie the "patsy" for the PNAC crowd's cluster-f*ck in Iraq?

PNAC had their own agenda for Iraq. Chalabi just happened to fit neatly within their propaganda machine to further their ends.

They knew Chalabi's info was bogus when they were getting it. Now that Iraq is a total f*ck story, he makes a convenient fall guy for the mess, instead of the very administration that disregarded factual intelligence in favor of Alice in Wonderland visions of what the Middle East will look like.

1. There is a question
as to where Chalabi got the information to give to Iran..it was stuff that only a very few in the administration knew.

2. They have no use for him now.
They knew all along he was a bastard. They are trying to take some of the heat off of themselves without having to admit they were wrong. Typical right-wing response. Carefully planned, chronologically executed, and oh so transparent.

3. With the neocons, anything is possible ---
as long as it is dishonest, immoral, illegal, self-serving, etc., etc., etc.

4. PNAC-er's were Chalabi's stooges - he used them! He wanted
Saddam overthrown and that's what he got plus huge sums of US taxpayer money.

He was interviewed a few months ago and said as much - that he wanted the US in Iraq to get rid of Saddam and whether it was right or wrong that's what has happened and it is to his advantage.

5. Maybe so, but how's it going to help them?
I admit this is too deep for me. I never could follow the more intricate spy novels either. However, the electorate is a little easier to figure and I can't see how this isn't going to seem pretty lame in a homicidal way to the masses. Duped=incompetent=weak.

6. Yes, and at this point, somebody had to go
They didn't want to give Rummy the heave-ho (for whatever reason) so it was time to chuck Chalabi. I agree they knew what and who he was from the start.

7. No, no, no, no...
How can Chalabi be a "fall guy" for anything? Has anyone supporting this popular and flatly wrong meme actually thought this thing through?

8. Somebody's got to be a fall guy.
That movie "The Maltese Falcon" keeps coming back.

It won't cure Bush's problems but if the fascisti's can blame Chalabi for even part of the problem it may siphon off some of the Public's outrage building against this conflict. I don't think it will do much good for Bush in the long run, but it won't hurt him either.
