Poll question: How many times a year do you attend a religious gathering?
There are a lot of threads about religion around here and I wonder how often DUers attend religious services.

1. Religious services doesn't mean going to church
My husband and I lead The Dances of Universal Peace, which is moving meditation honoring the world's spiritual traditions. We lead this every week in different locations. We also attend sweatlodge ceremonies and I officiate at Universal Worship services.

2. You're right
I tried to put it in a way where people would understand that, but it's difficult to get people to not think church when they hear religious service or gathering.

3. Spirituality interests me; religion irritates me.
From my personal experience, I don't think I could ever be part of a religion again.

I am interested in working on clarifying what I believe about spirituality, but only from within myself.

14. Not this puppy. I foreswore weddings & funerals 35 years ago.

It probably pissed off a few folks, but the ones who got married are too busy to worry about it, and the dead ones probably don't give a shit...
edit: dumb spelling air :D

in their joy and sorrow for weddings and funerals. I have also been invited to attend (and in one case participate in) services for a pagan group and a Norse group.

My attendance is for my edification and to be there for people I care about. It doesn't mean I agree with everything being said.

Being part of the maintenance crew at a stadium hosting a Bush appearance, it doesn't automatically make you a Republican.

Sorry: forgot to note that I edited out a stupid typo.

8. Just the quarterly festivals nowdays...
...Candlemas, Beltane, Lughnasah and Samhain.

It's been a few years since we danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight. My wife and I are getting a little old for that...we leave the nude moonlight dancing to the kids nowdays.

19. Sounds like my upbringing
We went to church at least three times a week and twice on Sunday. I have scaled back my church attendance greatly since then. I am trying to get back into going but it's difficult when people have their own agendas and try to manipulate you into feeling the same way they do about everything.
