LTTE from local talk show host bashing Berg's father!
Philly area folks may know about Dom Giordano. You really need to read this, and let him know what you think about him having this published in Berg's hometown paper. A sample:

"You have not lashed out at the al-Qaeda fanatics who murdered your son. Why? Instead you have try to almost exclusively focus your anger at President Bush and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld. You have said that "My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this."

This is not grief speaking. This is the political rhetoric of a man who touts his membership in ANSWER, a radical anti-Bush and anti-war group. This position is also spelled out by your attack on the Patriot Act. I’m only guessing but if I were grieving I don’t think a debate over the Patriot Act would occupy my time and speech."

Now, you can leave comments on the newspaper's website as usual. However, in this case I would also urge you to go to his website, www.domtalk.com. There's a "contact" section there (in the menu on the left), and there's also a link to some forums on the bottom right.

Enjoy! :)

1. Dom Giordano and Mike Smerconish
Two cheeks from the same hiney.

Philadelphia has two Rush Limbaugh wannabes, upholding the public morality, insulting the grief-stricken, and blowing cigar smoke ("it makes the Libbruls go ballistic!") wherever they go.

In this town, there are no punk-rock radio stations, no all-classical radio stations, no all-jazz radio stations, but Dom and Mike have radio shows.

We "Fluffyans" are just lucky, I guess.

3. New/Old debate technique ...

It's called "Changing the subject".

I routinely subject myself to a little Sean Hannity. A couple nights ago he was complaining about the widows protesting the NYC Republican administrations for not updating firefighters radios after the '93 WTC bombing.

Hannitie's take was ... Why aren't you honoring and venerating the work of these firefighters. Hannity is just smooth enough to make this sink in.

The fact is that there is a time for honor and veneration. That's what parades and memorials are for. Protests and hearings are for rooting out BAD things. Each thing has it's place and time.

Lets all try to realize the "Changing the subject" technique. Stop the perpetrator and remind them that there is a time for EVERYTHING. America fell over itself grieving and honoring the fallen. There is a time for investigating WHAT WENT WRONG.

4. Good point.
Good point.

We all know terrorists are bad.

Saying "terrorists are bad" repeatedly won't get us anywhere.

When the US or an American city does something wrong, we need to speak out.
