Pentagon Retaliates Against Abu Ghraib Whisteblower
witness who told ABCNEWS he believed the military was covering up the extent of abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison was today stripped of his security clearance and told he may face prosecution because his comments were "not in the national interest."

Sgt. Samuel Provance said in addition to his revoked security clearance, he was transferred to a different platoon, and his record was officially "flagged," meaning he cannot be promoted or given any awards or honors.

Provance said he was told he will face administrative action for failing to report what he knew at the time and for failing to take steps to stop the abuse.

2. I may go past one "whistleblower"....
This may also be the intelligence agencies taking revenge against Bunnypants for outing an operative. That's my theory anyways....

3. Patriotism????
This is what happens to loyal Americans who speak truth. The female FBI Agent who went to DC to speak before a commission about the Arab who was taking lessons to fly but only for manuevers in the air and not the landing or takeoff lessons, was treated like a leper while her supervisor who did not submit her findings to higher officials was promoted and lauded among her supervisors and DC.

That is why we have imcompetant leadership in DC and all the way up to the Whitehouse. Incompetants reward other incompetants thus leaving our Nation in danger.

5. And yet another enemy lines up to
blast the administration. As if it's not enough that bushCo has to deal with the outrage of the abused Iraqis, the rest of the Iraqis. Let's not forget the entire muslim world. Add to that the vast majority of countries around the world that now despise the US.

ADD to the mix: now they have to deal with their own countrymen, who are now standing up to blast this regime. Very soon, they will have no one but themselves left.

10. He will need none of anything they could give him
He only took back his dignity (and hopefully some of ours also)

Thank you, Sgt. Samuel Provance

And everyone wonders why the soldiers not involved didn't speak up sooner. This is what happens. Even if he had spoken up the second he knew what was happening, they still would have found a way to go after him. Our military is going down the toilet and nobody seems to care.

Also, the origianl link is to the second page of the story. This one should go to the first page.

13. I think it's time to start a whistle-blower support group.
These are people who have proven they will put the interest of the community before their own. And I'm sure there are jobs out there that require this very kind of quality.
