Ann Coulter: Falwell right about 9-11, critics of God in schools to jail!
http://www.opednews.com/crockett051404_faith_in_Politics.htm

We recently located some interesting quotes by Ralph Reed and Pat Robertson on "The Conservative Hall of Fame" website (click here to read). Ralph Reed was formerly the head of the Christian Coalition and now head of the Georgia Republican Party. In a speech to the Christian Coalition, he said, "Tell em what they want to hear; when elected do as you please. Lie if you have to." Ralph Reed must have missed the Ten Commandments.

Pat Robertson said " I think one man, one vote; just unrestricted democracy would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights." Pat Robertson attacks democracy and advocates white racism. There is nothing Christian about these comments by Ralph Reed or Pat Robertson.

We recently heard anti-Clinton zealot and Republican commentator, Ann Coulter, defend the comments of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson concerning the September 11th attacks while addressing the College Republicans in Oregon. Her comments included a spirited defense on our treatment of the American Indians as being an advance for Christianity. Her most outrageous comment advocated placing in detention, under John Ashcroft, anyone who criticized the use of references to God in our schools. She seems to be against the Freedom of Speech provided by the Bill of Rights in our Constitution. We do not imprison anyone for his or her religious or political views in America.

The "so called" Christian Right is acting like an American Taliban. Their political agenda is both un-American and un-Christian. They have become nothing more than a tool of the Republican Party in their quest for power. Voters beware! Christians beware! It is time to exercise our Free Will in the ballot box and in our Churches.

4. I know how we can shut her up
A Democratic Administration can declare her to be a terrorist and her statements to be terroristic under the USA Patriot Act. What comes around goes around.

Not that anyone would ever want to top dAnn! People like dAnn don't just happen in America, here is an example:

Baghdad Bob likes to lie and want's to kill everybody too that don't toe the old party line! Hitler will never die as long as people like dAnn run loose!

6. Let them keep talking as much as possible and keep associating
with Bush*. They are so far out there they can only help us. The only ones they can appeal to are their base and we aren't going to pick up votes there. Those in the middle, the 'undecideds', will hear these nut cases and run away---to Kerry.

I haven't seen much of her lately, which is a good thing. Last I heard of her, Al Franken trounced her ass in a debate. I'd love to see the transcripts of that. If anyone would provide a link would be much appreciated.

12. When the revolution comes, we're going to send her to a re-education
camp where her duties will be carrying bedpans for sick minority children.

(Just kidding . . . she'd make the kids sicker)

*****

I just had a thought--aren't you glad that the blond snake never had children of her own? And her old biological clock is really ticking away.

Rush Limbaugh, too--no kids. What's with the radical right that they can't procreate?

Let's ask the good Doctor Freud, shall we?

Hehehehee

18. Ann Coulter does not worry me. It's the "folks" who show up to listen to
her that do. Without an audience, she's nothing. The fact that people stop, listen, and seriously consider her viewpoints is troubling. They will be energized and likely to vote in order to "reclaim America", etc. I wonder if they don't like her "moxy" rather than her rhetoric.

23. Thought crimes?
...I didn't think we'd get to those so soon. She's not simply against free speech..she's advocating 'detaining' Americans (aka putting them in prison) for their thoughts and beliefs.

- I never listen to Coulter...for obvious reasons: she's insane. But insanity has a way of spreading when a country's leadership attempts to create a 'master race' of puritans.

27. Is it possible that Ann Coulter's comments are all just an act?
They're so completely over the top that I'm really beginning to wonder if it's just a schtick. Hey, she sells a few books, puts some money in the bank. America is the land of opportunity...maybe Ann just came up with this persona just to make a few bucks.

31. Does it matter if it's an act or not?
When irrational hatred like that inspires irrational hatred in others, does it matter if the original irrational hatred was genuine or not? If some moron actually walks into a mosque and kills the Imam inside and then tries to "convert" the other worshippers "to Christianity" because Ann the Man told them to, does it matter whether s/he meant it or not?

Or let me put it this way... How much has right wing hatred risen in this country since Rush went on the air? Is it possible that someone like Tim McVeigh or Eric Rudolph were Limbaugh fans. Not that Rush specifically suggested bombing buildings, of course. But he certainly fueled hatred of the government in general, and Democrats specifically.

30. The most clear and present danger to us
These folks say America was founded as a "Christian nation," but history says otherwise.

I recently read Edward Gibbon's "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire," which makes a very good case for the complicity of Christian bigotry in Rome's fall.

That, combined with knowledge of the Thirty Years' War (a horrific event with strong religious components whose body count wasn't equalled until WWI) led the founders to press for strong separation of Church and State.

Gibbon's overall diagnosis for Rome's fall is becoming increasingly truer in the US: greater tyranny, oppressive taxation to finance a military machine, increasing poverty, and religious bigotry are all rampant in the US today, as it was in Rome.

I can only hope that the next great power is wiser, but I'm not confident.
