Herb Brooks killed in car accident

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Former Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks, who led the Americans to the "Miracle on Ice" victory over the Soviet Union, died Monday in a car accident, a state official said.

He was there for one of the greatest moments in US sport's history

I love hockey, and the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team winning the gold medal was unforgettable.

4. My sympathies go out to his family and his former hockey mates,
just thinking about the 1980 Olympic Hockey team makes me tear up. One of the most emotional moments in sports history, and I am not even a sports fan!!
