The White House has criticized Israel's military offensive in Gaza -- at least 10 demonstrators killed:

I agree with the White House -- Israelis are going too far.
Israel has a right to defend itself -- even killing demonstrators.
Israel has a right to defend itself -- the killings were not intended.
(a) and this will seriously undermine any peace possibilities

This damn thing forces you to agree with the White House? And since when have Dumbya's chastisements against Sharon actually meant anything? How about slashing that $10 bil in funding we give Israel- Then I would actually believe that the Bushies mean it when they "criticize" Sharon.

1. I don't recall the "White House" stating that the Israeli's went to far.

All I heard was "use restraint" and that was directed to the Palestinians as well as the Isreali's.

There's no balance. I mean I guess you don't expect that from Fox News, but you do expect the illusion of balance.

Admittedly it's been a while since I paid much attention to Fox News; maybe they've given up even pretending.

5. It will be very interesting to see how Jewish Americans will vote . . .

in the upcoming presidential election here in the US (clarification: not saying that Jewish Americans vote as a block, more curious about the split between Bush and Kerry supporters in the 2004 race).

Has anybody seen any polling numbers on this particular point?

8. I had a chance to do a little GOOGLE research on this today:

From the LA TIMES:

"Bush won about 17% of the Jewish vote in 2000, but supporters are aiming to raise that to about 30% in this election, based largely on his support for Israel."

It will be interesting to see if this 30% comes to pass. If it did, then that would seem like a significant, but not mind-blowing, move to the right.
