Posted already? French put 60,000 red roses on the graves
of our war dead, in Normandy and elsewhere. For July 4.(per NPR today)

They truly honor our dead, and we bash them.

4. The French bashing...
is just childish. There were other countries opposed to Bush's invasion, and we didn't go to the same lengths to bash and ridicule them.

I hate it that the current gang in power are destroying this country, and our world reputation. I can't wait til they're out. We should be reaching out to other countries, not bullying and swaggering.

I seriously doubt this country would have had the class to do the same, if there were French graves here.

6. They do honor them
And year round, they lovingly clean the graves and keep them looking immaculate!

July 14th is Bastille Day- I WILL be celebrating in the French Quarter of San Francisco.

Vive La France!

I think I got that right!

This French-bashing is one of the most idiodic and enraging things I have seen in ages. Makes me embarrassed to be an American!

I needed to hear that story, it restores a little of my faith in humanity which is destroyed on a daily basis by the right wing hate machine.

15. Geez, don't those cheese-eating surrender monkey frogs know
that the correct thing to do when disagreeing with an ally is to endlessly smear them and change anything named after them, threaten to return all gifts from said country, and make up epithets like "cheese-eating surrender monkey frogs"?

Those haughty French bastards need to watch more Fox News and learn how to really be virtuous.

An aside, I don't think most Americans EVER agreed with the French-bashing - it was mostly in the realm of AM hate radio, idiotic "morning drive" shows, and Leno.

The French were right, and a hell of a lot of us knew it.

And why was there no German, or even Mexican bashing?
