"The first in his family to graduate from high school"
..that tonight regarding Sgt. Sivits (sp?) who took the fall for the prison abuse scandle. There's more than one scandle here. It's who we are using to fight our wars of greed. It's the people Bush and the rich scum who support him use and dispose of like used toiletpaper in this country. The year is 2004 and this is the FIRST to graduate high school. You should be ashamed America....

2. I don't think Abraham Lincoln had much formal schooling
These people are animals, from Bush/Rumfeld on down to the dimwits doing the hands on torture. Has nothing to do with education.

BTW, its "scandal". Use the spell checker!! It's fun!!
:-)

3. Abe was very much a self-educated man. I doubt if this guy's
"people" were highly self educated and only he got through school. You know exactly what I was talking about. You also know that in Abe's time there were many opportunities for people that were not based on whether they could produce a "diploma". Today, you cannot get a job that can even pay the rent if you don't have something above a high school diploma. Do you think this guy ever really had much of a chance in life except enlisting in the service????? Regardless of what he did or did not do, our ranks are full of Sgt. Sevits....and they "ain't no" silver spoon boys.

4. The rich don't have to sacrifice anything
It is nothing short of evil that we use the poorest of the poor to fight our battles while we don't even tax the rich to pay for them.

5. I agree up to a point
but the soldiers/MP's that blew the whistle most likely came from a similar background and somehow THEY knew it was wrong to sexually assault people - you really shouldn't need a legal understanding of the Geneva convention to know that. Also given the numbers of people in this guys position who VOTE for the republicans it's hard being sympathetic sometimes
