How to brew up an underhanded campaign...

I wrote this for my english class for an assignment to write a parody.

A parody of MacBeth.

Rove: Thrice the Fox News hath mewed.

Cheney: Thrice and once the liberals whined.

Rice: The ghost of Nixon cries. ‘tis time, ‘tis time.

Rove: Round about the campaign go:
In the poisoned donations throw.
Rich white men, with cash to blow,
Five-and-twenty thousand dollars dinners do not forgo.
To the money we must run,
And then the people’s mandate we shall shun.

All: Double, double, lie and muddle;
Spin the news and make trouble.

Cheney: Fillet of a straw-man,
In the backrooms label and spin;
Liberal bleed-heart and of the spending kind,
Fought for his country but changed his mind,
A man can’t do that, that lying scum,
Conscienced thinking is for only bums.
For a charm of pow’rful maladies,
Lie about your rival’s history.

All: Double, double, lie and muddle;
Spin the news and make trouble.

Rice: The commission I have deceived,
And some were foolish to believe
Though true we did not do enough to defend,
Bush might lose if I did not veil
That we did little and thus we failed,
But to us it was for political gain
And so we must not appear ashamed.
But back to the campaign what we must perform,
Travel to states with our pretend reforms;
Collect funds and tell the press
Kerry will lead the country like a communist.
Clearly he’s a liberal snob,
But don’t tell the story of the AWOL fob*.

All: Double, double, lie and muddle;
Spin the news and make trouble.

Cheney: Cool it with a load of dud,
Then people will care none.


*To "fob" is to put off or appease by deceitful or evasive means, while a "fob" is an ornament or seal attached to a chain or ribbon. (Is that Bush or what?)
