I worry about Michael Moore.
I cannot help but wonder if Bush's handlers have anything to do with barring Michael Moore's up and coming film Fahrenheit 9-11. From what I understand, it is suppose to be the most controversial and damning film aimed at the Bush administration. If Moore does not get it distributed by Disney, I am certain somebody else will distribute it out.

The thing that concerns me is I get a feeling there are evil forces at work (Karl Rove) that are going to bring Moore down big time. Moore for as funny as he is is probably the most dangerous man to the Bush administration. Even more dangerous than John Kerry. Why? He is intelligent. I am not saying he is more intelligent than Kerry but he is not running for office for one thing, and he is very good at citing the sources he has. He also uses art to get his message out which makes it more poignant and powerful to people. This is what makes him dangerous to the Bushites in my opinion.

I hope nothing bad happens to him. The Bush Crime Family are pure EVIL!

John

1. They wouldn't make a martyr of him now. If he died it'd be like Elvis.
It wouldn't just make F 9/11 a huge hit, they'd have retrospectives of all his films and reprints of his books.

Furthemore, if he could be taken down any other way, it would have happened by now. Anyway, if Robert Downey Jr and Eddie Murphy can do what they did and still be making movies (for kids, no less) I can't imagine what could possibly happen to Moore which would discredit him.

I think the way the Republicans are dealing with F 9/11 is to say "there's nothing new here" to make people feel like they don't need to see the movie. Of all the possible strategies, it's one of the stupidest, but it suggests they won't be doing anything nefarious.

7. I think you are right
that their goal is to minimize the movie, rather than take Moore out. I'm not even sure they want this current controversy that's keeping the movie from being shown. I mean the more controversy, the more people will see it.

On the other hand, they are kind of stupid so maybe they would try to squelch it.

11. I don't know - I bet you Rove is digging through his garbage right now
The modus operandi of the Rove people is character assassination, it might be that Moore simply doesn't have anything damning to hide.

2. If I were Moore, I wouldn't eat out!
They have too many ways to make it look natural.

5. I'd be really careful about my computer, too
Next thing you know, he's accused of downloading kiddie porn or something, like Scott Ritter.

9. If I were Moore, I would eat less
If he had a "sudden heart attack" now, it would be dimissed as being due to his weight.

12. I wouldn't worry about that too much...
the guy has lost a tremendous amount of weight, especially considering he was seriously obese just a couple of years ago. He's lost what appears to be 70+ pounds.

4. I agree with AP
The Bushco strategy is to marginalize him. The trouble is, he just won't go away and he tends to grow on you. The real (tragically) funny thing is that his speech at the Oscars in 2003 is now a classic - at the time everyone in the audience just kind of sat there and was scared to move, the media ridiculed him - now, it's just a haunting and prophetic warning that nobody heeded.

They can't get rid of him that easy. Remember when the media tried to get Wes Clark to denounce him?

6. It seems more like intimidation and petty thug behavior at the moment...
Like on Dennis Miller's show last night. Apparently a two-headed turtle was recently found in South Carolina. Miller showed a photo of the oddity and then showed a photo of Michael Moore and said "the turtle is not to be confused with the three-chinned toad."

Hey, if there ever was a "toad," it's Miller.

And if you're going to refer to "evil forces" in the Bush administration, please realize that Karen Hughes is back. She may not have a penis (or maybe she does) but she is every bit as evil as Karl Rove...maybe more so because of her twisted "mommy" complex she has over Dubya. She may not be the "Capo di Tuti Capo" of the "Bush Crime Family" but she is much worse...and perhaps the most offensive member of all...because she hides behind the hideously false facade of "Best Christian Mom EVER!!!"

"Counselor to the president. Wife and Mother. The woman who left the White House to put family first, and moved back to Texas."

Then, apparently, she put family second again and moved back into the White House in an election year to resume her function as a heat-seeking missile aimed directly at the crotch of anyone who DARES to cross her beloved Dubya. How inspiring.

I think that what you will see is a lot of the "Bush Puppets" like Miller and Hannity blowing smoke up Moore's ass. I don't think he necessarily needs to hire a food taster in the short term...

8. Yes, here's the link. Bush's brother Jeb's tax breaks to Disney
or threat of removing those tax breaks, pushed Disney to chicken out of distributing the movie.

Corporate censorship sucks.

It looks fantastic.

In bush's first 8 months in office he was on vacation 42% of the time . . .
