Memos Reveal War Crimes Warnings to Bush
(if this has been posted before, please delete)

Could Bush administration officials be prosecuted for 'war crimes' as a result of new measures used in the war on terror? The White House's top lawyer thought so!

May 17 - The White House's top lawyer warned more than two years ago that U.S. officials could be prosecuted for "war crimes" as a result of new and unorthodox measures used by the Bush administration in the war on terrorism, according to an internal White House memo and interviews with participants in the debate over the issue.

The concern about possible future prosecution for war crimes—and that it might even apply to Bush adminstration officials themselves— is contained in a crucial portion of an internal January 25, 2002, memo by White House counsel Alberto Gonzales obtained by NEWSWEEK. It urges President George Bush declare the war in Afghanistan, including the detention of Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters, exempt from the provisions of the Geneva Convention.

4. Bring on the ICC!
Unlikely as it seems now, I'm still holding out hope that eventually we'll get to send Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Co over the Hague for the Mother of All Trials.

Maybe the world will give the U.S. an ultimatum if we're stupid enough to give Bush another four years in November? Hand over your war criminals, or we call all of your debts due and adopt the EU as the international monetary standard.

Few things would do more to restore our honor than Dick Cheney in handcuffs doing a perp walk.

5. Bush didn't renew or sign the treaty right after 9/11...
now the rest of the world knows why. Bush I and Clinton signed it, but not Bushco. When you don't sign, you can't be held accountable.
Guess that shows foresight, huh. Maybe there is some other way, but I doubt it. We just have to vote him out.
