what's interesting, is in '99 and 2000, while Bush was governor, I recall energy prices going up in Texas. I remember this 'cause many of us were mad that he was "allowing" a company called Texas-New Mexico Power gouge us.

Yes, we're being gouged. But the gouging is ontop of other pressures, and those pressures, from what I gather, aren't going to decrease again.

The gouging will only stop when prices drive people out of their gas burning cars.

8. Yes, much higher, and they still drive llike crazy....
On the subject of gouging: I remember that the price of a barrel of oil during the '73 embargo reached $50., but the price of gasoline has never been this high. Figur in the relative value of $50 in 73 and it is MUCH higher. There's no question that there's gouging.

I think they are seeing the writing on the wall as far as November goes. They have a real fear of losing and are going to stuff their pockets full while they have the opportunity. :grr:
