"New Refinery" Talking Point; Why would anyone invest now?
The republicans are looking for a handout for the oil industry. Gotta be the case. It is well documented that we're on our way towards the end of the supply. There is little left to be found or extracted and we're using up the rest. Yet over and over and over I hear the republican spokesheads using the phrase "we haven't built a new refinery in 30 years!" Well, so the hell what? And why on earth would anyone go to the expense NOW, when we're on the downside of the curve? It would make no sense.

Unless of course, you could get the costs gauranteed, like Cheney did for the nuke industry. Nah. That's not why they keep bringing this up, is it?

Nah. The GOP wouldn't do that. Right?
