Dennis Miller: "700K new jobs in 3 months and Bush isn't getting credit"
Edited on Mon May-17-04 08:43 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
"The economy is doing GREAT and no one is giving Bush any credit! Why IS that?"

One possible reason, given by a member of the "Varsity Panel" who's on the Bush payroll (sorry, didn't get the name, but the replay is on CNBC at 9:00 PM Pacific time):

"Bad news sells. Good news doesn't."

On edit: NBC's Ron Ensana said that while "some" of the jobs are temp jobs, and military jobs, the tech sector is also coming back "strong." People feel good about their own finances but when asked about the economy they feel concern.

Miller said something like this in response: (and this is not an EXACT quote)..."I don't even know what "the economy" is!!!!"

You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record baby, right round right round...

8. Watch the replay...
...Miller and the "Varsity Panel" claimed that we have gained over 1 million (I think they might have thrown out "1.5 million") jobs "over eight months."

2. Better answer:
NY Post pointed out, recently, that the entire premise upon which those job numbers are predicated is a sham. A complete fiction.

The NY Post. Dig it.

Fuck that limp-licking loser. He will soon be doing schtick for kids parties.

16. That's his opinion...
People started complaining about this model a year after the current benchmark was put in place.

And if you believe the net birth/death model is a "sham" then I hope you're also willing to concede that 480,000 jobs were created in January because the birth/death model subtracted 321,000 jobs.

5. Gee....
...maybe because the jobs are mostly sales and customer service and low-end part-time, temp jobs while most people are still displaced because of Bush's policies.

14. Oh!
Only some of the jobs suck. Well that makes a world of difference. I am assuming that 80% to 90% of the jobs we lost after Clinton were good jobs. So, just because some are temp, does that mean that the ones that are not are not only part-time or are shit? Now that makes things so much better. <sarcasm>

7. I suggest Dennis read Charles Krauthammer's op ed piece
in, I believe, Time magazine last week.

According to noted conservative dickcheese Krautpacker, the president deserves neither credit nor blame for the condition of the economy. Clinton, he said, deserves credit for "getting out of the way" of the capatalists and marketers of 90's internet boom, but not for the boom itself. Basically, this was just another conservative buttplug covering his ass in regards to supporting a "conservative" president who's spending like Imelda Marcos on an ether binge.

You can be damn sure if Clinton were president now, Krathammer and Miller both would be riding his pink Arkansas ass.

15. See, ANYONE can "do" Dennis Miller.
Just name-drop an historical figure, add in a hip drug reference, wiggle your hair, look smug/drunk, and voila!

It's like this: ______(Name of current politician) is acting like a ______(name of illegal drug)-crazed version of _______(name of historical figure).

It's the Dennis Miller Mad Lib! Anyone can do it! Have fun, kids!

A little learning is a dangerous thing;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.

9. Obviously with Bush's numbers going down on every subject
matter, the people are not buying the jobs crap. They see the galloping sending jobs to outsourcing, they worry about their own, they see more and more lay-offs, they know the "jobs" are shit jobs with lousy wages and no benefits, they know more and more immigrants are being let in to compete with them for the jobs that are left, they see gas going through the roof and shrinking their own paychecks, they know interest rates are going up and the stock market is going down..............they know Bush is a lying, arrogant bastard who is jerking them around.

24. Why care what Miller says? Only 54 people watch his show anyways...
He probably has more people employed to put the show on the air than people who actually watch it.

Isn't a 0.1 in the Nielsen ratings the definition of "miserable failure", too?
