Did I hear correctly? Both Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman said they heard rumors about Tom Ridge replacing Cheney as Bush's running mate! I don't think there's any chance in hell of that happening, but it's interesting that these rumors are cropping up in Republican circles.

I doubt if most Ohioans even know who he is, much less know or care that he's the director of Homeland Security. But then, Ohio's not exactly a big target for terrorism. He came up with that color-coding system, much like the one we used in my elementary school lunch room to control the volume of talking. But he actually had the genius to transform "yellow light means too much talking" into "yellow means fear and spend, citizen".
