Aaron McGrunder is an amazing speaker and an amazing cartoonist. He is stunningly insightful.

was soooooo good. At one point, when when of the students asked a question, McGruder answered by saying "Somebody has to find a way to get those Nazi's out of the White House". He built on what Dr. West said about America now being an Empire. Tavis Smiley acted shocked (kiddingly, I believe) and said now he would have thousands of e-mails saying what do you mean America is not a democracy.

One of the things I learned from watching this forum was that RADIO does not allow the good African-American musicians on the air. Dr. West said everything would shut down (or something like that) if Stevie Wonder were allowed on the air. Seems like they just want this rap stuff on so that people listening get the impression that African-Americans are lazy, stupid and dumb (McGruder said).

There will be a continuation of this forum on regular C-Span at 4:15 today dealing with affirmative action.

11. I saw that part, about getting the Nazis out of the W.H.!! Even if I'd

never seen a single Boondocks strip, what I heard McGruder say today would be enough to make me a fan.

You can listen to him speak, and within a minute or two, you realize he has an extremely sophisticated & accurate socio-political analysis. It's not a matter of just coming out with a few good sound bites, here & there; he just has a terrific grasp of the big picture. When he speaks, he strives to tell the truth uncompromisingly. He uses a soft-spoken demeanor to deliver crashing haymakers.

12. Yes, indeed.

He really impressed me. He even talked about Colin Powell's son, Michael heading up the FCC. Said things would not get better any time soon. Travis said Aaron was 20 years old, or in his early 20's. He said he gets away with what he does in his comic strip because he portrays Huey and ? as "cute". Said if he portrayed the characters as real people, he would be working down in his basement.
