Is "the left" weakening our fight in the War on Terror?
I can smell this spin coming from a mile away. If they haven't already started it (Fox loves to test out a new line on the weekends) expect to see/hear this very soon.
The front page story on the milquetoast AOL is that "Tough tactics no longer Okay"- the crackdown on a system that we have all seen proof of being out of control, in fact no control, or at least tragically misguided control (from the top).
They are going to try to divert attention from what happened and who let/made it happen to the changes that are being made now. No discussion of how we got in this situation to start with or that without one parent leaking photos we would not be aware of. They are going to paint the left/Dems (Kerry)/Human righters/"the press" (not to include Fox/VRWC) as weak and bowing to the forces of evil (THEM not us) and in doing so weakening our efforts in the war on terror.
2. Inhofe already started the ball rolling when he complained of
humanitarian groups falling over themselves to get into the prison. I have this sense that the republican attack machine is becoming more apparent to the public and they will cause their own downfall with their hateful rhetoric. I really have to think that even moderate republicans are getting sick of the vitrol that comes out of the republican spin machine.
Being for the "war on terror" as it should be executed (not as it currently is) I believe democrats add a dissenting perspective that should be considered by the current power holders.
If by "left" one means the far left, then my answer is no again. There isn't enough influence there to make a difference.
Yes. The radical Republicans are going to be saying things like "When are you liberals and Democrats going to start helping the President fight the war on terror?" (Actually, I've already heard this line.)
But we must fight fire with fire. Name me one thing that Osama bin Ladin wanted that Bush has not delivered to him?
Bush is the genuine Manchurian candidate. He is a stooge of the Saudia Aarbian Wahabist plan to undermine the United States. The attack on Iraq is very clearly a subversion of the 'war on terrror' ...
My question is "When are Bush and the radical Republicans going to start strengthening America - instead of embarressing us and weakening us with their quagmire in Iraq?"
13. Yes the initial set of pics (the guy in the hood on the box, etc.)
They were leaked by (Ithink) Sivetts father because he was afraid that his son and all the lower ranking involved would be scapegoated....imagine that.
Senior officers were already being punished along with the soldiers. However the soldiers are going to bear a large share of the responsibility in this case. As well they should.
"I was just following orders" wasn't any better of an excuse back in WWII.
I think the General was already going to be relieved. There had also been changes in the command structure in Iraq as well. Getting replaced before your tour is up is still getting relieved of command. That is never a good thing.
the terrorists want to kill you whether you are a democrat or a republican so why does that not stand to reason that the terrorist want to kill you whether you are speaking out in favor of Bush or against Bush? Do they really give a s**t what we are saying or do they want to kill us anyways? Such hypocrisy!
