Actually, If I had a choice between GW and Nixon, I would take Nixon. Nixon had some serious character flaws, but unlike bush, he had a core decency. It showed when he would do the right thing like the environmental rules he supported. He may have had to do them out of PR considerations, but he did it. Bush doesn't even try. I guess you can act that way when you are God's Favorite son.

Apparently without doing an examination, and according to the documents, without performing an autopsy, the pathologist Luis A. Santiago wrote that the man had died in his sleep. The US troops handed the body, including the death certificate, over to the International Red Cross shortly thereafter.

American troops had previously arrested the respected family patriarch on an open road and taken him to the American military base Al Asad west of the town of Khan al Baghdad. Ostensibly there was suspicion that he belonged to the Iraqi resistance. The soldiers are alleged to have put enormous pressure on Asad Abdul Kareem Abdul Jaleel in the base prison. Another prisoner gave Spiegel TV a detailed description of how the 47 year old was tortured in a sadistic manner for five days. The witness says that the soldiers also took photographs of the abuse.

Even a layman can easily recognize the obvious effects of violence on the pictures of the body: Large, dark bruises that could come from beatings can be seen on both sides of the body. On the wrists and ankles there are bruises, which presumably date back to many days of captivity. There are bruises from beatings or other forms of violent impact on the back. Other lacerations on the upper body point to injuries which can hardly be called "natural".

i remember a story of 3 young iraqi guys stopped at a check point. may have been four. and they were cuffed and thrown in the river. 3 drowned and one survived or something. anyway that was right as stuff was getting going adn saw then we werent following the rules and saw these people as animals. they werent part of the fighting force

23. The body was in rigor mortis and was not yet decomposing...

...and if the man had died on his back, the blood would have pooled internally along his ENTIRE back, not just certain areas around his kidneys, waist, and upper back. Additionally, there appears to be bruising around the one wrist that is visible which indicates the presence of some kind of binding, probably those plastic "handcuffs" we've seen so often on television over the last few years.

His legs and and head appear to be quite dark, indicating either heavy bruising and/or the pooling of blood in those areas after death. It's possible that the man was lying on a short slatted bench that supported only his back while his head and legs dangled over the ends of the bench.

It may also be posible that the man died while resting on his front, with his head and legs dangling, and was later turned over onto a slatted bench sometime after his death, and sometime prior to the onset of rigor mortis.
