Republican yarnspinner, Mc Clintock
I heard the guy for the first time on the radio today.. Of course it was the obligatory Davis bashing for a good bit and then he dropped this little gem:

People of California are very mad a Gray Davis.. we are resourceful people..like my parents.." My dad was unemployed for a year and my mother was a housewife , taking care of us kids.. We moved out here (forgot where from ..PA??).. and they bought a little house for $35,000.00 and started over.."..

No one ever questions these froot-loops when they say stuff like this..

1.. UNEMPLOYED father..housewife... FOR A YEAR??? Did they eat rocks & twigs??? (Did they receive public assistance, maybe ..)

2.. It costs a lot of money to MOVE CROSS COUNTRY, even in 1950's...where did they get that money???

3.. They BOUGHT A HOUSE...with WHAT MONEY??? If they had $35,000.00 after a cross country move and no one working in the family for a YEAR...where did they get the money???

These R's actr like they INVENTED upward mobility and did it all on their own.. Those people got help from SOMEWHERE, and if he's gonna spin the yarn, someone needs to call him on it :grr:

The little hostess just oohed and aaahed about the "difficult" time his family had, and how wonderful California was for them to achieve their American Dream..

1. I've got a little story for you about hard work
But first, why don't you call in and tell that twerp on the radio to buzz off!

My mom was an abused woman in her first marriage. After my father got done slapping her around one day, she took my sister and I and hopped into the car and took off for my grandmother's. I'm glad she had somebody to turn to. A divorce took place and after that she was determined to never be reliant on a man. She had been working in retail but that didn't pay enough to be self-reliant with two children so she took a job in a factory. A year later, she met a nice man who became my step-father. But she never let go of her self-sufficiency. She continued to work at the factory filling rail cars with corn syrup. We're talking hard, literally back-breaking work. She's had two surgeries for broken disks in her neck. Still, she won't let go. She did find another factory job that's easier on her body, but she won't give up even though her and my step-father could live on his income. She could be drawing social security right now because she's considered disabled. She turned down a pell grant from our local office of rehabilitation. She's one tough woman.

Tell that bozo to take his unemployed but got a 100k in the bank in 1950 sob story to flush it. That don't fly around here.

2. A little house? For $35,000? In the 50's???
My folks bought a little house in California, oh about 1200 sq ft, in the 60's and paid around $13,000. In 1971 they bought a little bit bigger house, maybe 1600 sq ft and 2 acres for $25,000.

So when was it that this struggling family bought a 'little' house in California for $35,000? I really have to hear this one.
