A review of a preview of Farenheit 911
I got this in my email.

Adele, my dear friend, had invited me to join her for a private showing of Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 on the 12th but I needed to be in NJ. Here's her report. Thought you might have some interest...no matter your pov. I'll be back in NY in a couple of days, in case you're looking for me.
Barbara/ Mom/ Auntie, etc.

Last nite we saw the new Michael Moore documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11 and I recommend it especially for those who don't have the patience to read inummerable e mails about the shannanigans that have gone on in the government, or perhaps have read about it and don't want to believe. While there is nothing new for those that have been keeping tabs up till now, the film shows a concise background of the connections between the Saudi Royal family, the Bin Laden family, the Carlyle Group, Hallibuton and members of this administration. Of course there are interviews with soldiers returned from Iraq, a family that lost a son in Iraq and a few government officials. There is footage, shot in Iraq, of civilians shortly after being bombed and of soldiers in the aftermath of battle.

The opening of the film does start on 9/11 but, true to his word, Michael does not show the attack itself. The screen is black, there is sound, and then people running in the street, looking for loved ones or just in shock. It is a brief and not exploitive segue into the film. The moments in the classroom after the president is told about the attack are stunning. Overall, while there are a few light moments, the film is not overwrought with his usual scathing humor to make its points. The people tell their stories and the stories will break your heart, open your mind and hopefully, move you to want to do something to make a difference.

Harvey Weinstein, who owns Miramax, has personally bought the film and will distribute it. It opens on July 4th.

Adele

Probably in limited release though. Hopefully, it will be out on video/DVD by October.
