"Novak, Buchanan, George Will, Tucker Carlson, now Friedman"
someone posted this in another thread...

What's the story behind these guys? I saw Friedman's article. What about the others.

6. Tucker's was amazing
"I think it’s a total nightmare and disaster, and I’m ashamed that I went against my own instincts in supporting it," he said. "It’s something I’ll never do again. Never. I got convinced by a friend of mine who’s smarter than I am, and I shouldn’t have done that. No. I want things to work out, but I’m enraged by it, actually."

7. what about them?
They're all conservatives who are starting to turn against the Iraq invasion (except for Buchanan, who is not "turning" -- he was against it from Day One).

5. Buchanan hasn't jumped the warmongers' ship.....
...he wasn't on board it to begin with. He has opposed the neocons' agenda since long before we even invaded Iraq.

George Will, though, is a very good example of a conservative pundit who supported the war before but is now seeing the writing on the wall.

Hell, even Bill O'freakin-Reilly is starting to get sweaty and critical of Bush, even if he hasn't -- yet -- reached the point where he would make an outright break with the neocons the way Will has.

9. Novak is a TRAITOR and deserves nothing but scorn
I would not pay any attention to a single thing that piece of shit ever said for as long as he may live. I would like justice to prevail.

10. A conservative friend of mine recently asked
"Are these pundits really conservative or just political opportunists?"

Obviously, those abandoning the * ship or those never on th * ship are the true conservatives. Scumbaugh, Insannity, et al, are the posers. They have chosen their path and any deviation, even by deviates, will not happen. It is out of character. Pat Buchanan would never become a junkie, then act like it wasn't a character flaw.

I really do have a conservative friend. I am not making it up like someone who asks a doctor about a "friend" with the clap. I also have a brother and mom who are ultraconservative and quite insane. You know the type "nuke/kill them all." I always attack their christianity at that point, but they are too stupid to realize the hypocrisy. They think it's christian to act like terrorists. I think it is that "do unto others" thing. I can't explain it. That's why I am a commie.

My father died a few years ago. He always voted democrat and said every war he fought in was started by a republican. He would be appalled at the apotheosis of scum such as Scumbaugh and the absolute lack of humanity in the current combat. Glad he's not here to see this.
