Every Cable and Network News Program Should Do As "The News Hour" Does...
And have a silent tribute to our fallen service men and women at the end of each broadcast. It's just a simple, silent slide-show showing the faces, names, ages, hometown, and branch of service.

They could do it... quite easily. After all... what's fifteen names, fifteen faces? About 30 seconds. --- Hell! They usually use the last 2 minutes to for 'human interest' stories to highlight some granny setting a trampoline world record, or a baby who can play the piano, or some such.

These brave fallen men and women OUGHT to qualify as HUMAN INTEREST, oughtn't they?

Just a thought.

2. I watch that just about every evening it's on.
It is an incredibly sobering way to end the program, quite effective, without fanfare or hype.

3. Humanitarian do gooder!
That's no way to whip up support for our corporate feudalist overlords and their plans for world domination and a fascist aristocracy.

4. That would be great, but
I might settle for even a report on the total number of soldiers killed each day.

If I don't check the net, I don't find out. It would take five seconds.

"The total number of US soldiers killed in Iraq rose today to ..."

5. CNN's News Night
with Arron Brown, doesn't show pictures, but they segue back from commercials with a list of name, rank, unit, hometown and cause of death.
