abb way back before the election. i knew a republican was going to get in. i live in texas. i didnt want bush. at first let it be mccain. and powell. come on powell, please. we cant have bushie. and mccain, got f*ed by bush by a bunch of christian in the ugliest of ways. (btw, i was still voting gore, just who i wanted on the other side in case gore didnt win.)
thru the nineties and the liberal machine that is wussy on war, he was able to shine in straight forward talking and results. in the climate of openess that repugs for a decade only used the word lie for. in the 90's we were able to trust powell, as much as anyone trusts.
about 2003 i learned more of powells history in the 80's and earlier. i am seeing this is your third strike, you are out of there.
powell in 200 to iraq stood there and opposed bush, questioned bush, which allowed me to say, he is the voice. and when he sat there at the u.n. table and i listened adn watched his face, i felt he had turned, i did i did, yet ..... it pushed me closer to see the bushie saw a reason anyway, for the war. not that it would work, not that they could accomplish, but any way that they saw reason.
i wasnt bothered by the wmd, or the fact saddam had escalated his agressive behavior, or a threat outside his border. i was getting enough this country had been gutted, was in decay, that is how wall came down.
powell lied
caved
and knew better all the way
