1. That is well and good for such an event I guess but...
..I think they should skew younger for some events to woo the youth vote. Streisand and Diamond scream uncool!

But I hope Diamond sings "America" just to piss the freepers off!

Here's who I'd book...

8. she performed at the "inaugural", along with
other wingers like Lorrie Morgan, Jessica Simpson, Sammy Kershaw (he and wife Morgan have nine marriages between the two of them), Asleep At The Wheel, Clint Black, and Wayne Newton. And, <sniff> Lyle Lovett

9. yeah.. but that doesn't prove she's a Bush supporter...
Edited on Wed May-12-04 08:42 PM by wyldwolf
...at the most, it showed she was nonpartisan and at the least she just jumped on a big gig that would give her big exposure.

Can we label anyone a Bushie who has had any friendly dealings with them?

6. Wyclef Jean will be there!
and more will be announced.

I thought it was trendy to like Diamond lately, though.

14. Of Course
I see.I just think the money is more important than the non existent youth vote at the moment! But we should still have some events for the kids. And yes we should mobilise them but it is an uphill battle.Seems they don't vote until their older.

15. I work with singers who sang at the Dem fundraiser with Streisand and
Manilow in 2002. Unfortunately, the White House brought them in to sing at the national christmas tree lighting ceremony to get a piece of them as human credentials because they are african-american.

I wouldn't describe them as Bush* supporters. Jesse Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg are big supporters of them.

But they do a maudlin Ray Charles-esque version of 'America the Beautiful' with full orchestra that has audiences out of their seats like it's a Nuremberg rally.

I've tried to convince them that is the theme song for Global Lynching but they keep doing it because it is such good theater in Amerikkka.

Sad and frustrating for a hard-core anti-nationalist like me.
