I wish someone would start a "don't pick Gephardt" site
You know, they can have an affect, even if it's only up to Kerry. We don't know whether that "top 5" shortlist is acurate or not, but it's clear that Gephardt does have a good shot at getting the nom, and he's the only one of that list who I think would just be awful, awful, awful. Contrary to what's been charged at me when I get into vp arguments, I don't just dismiss everyone as bad who isn't my top choice, who by the way is Graham for those who have missed it. I could deal with the choice of everyone else in that top 5 list(in order of preference Graham, Edwards, Clark, and then Vilsack) but it would just depress me so much and give me so much less confidence in Kerry's ability to judge the nations pulse and run this campaign to a victory.

And if I had any real web skills whatsoever I would start it but I don't.

2. OK, so the man's as exciting as a cold pork chop
His strength is that he speaks up for labor issues, something notoriusly absent from the Democratic Party since Johnson left office. He would balance Kerry's image as a DLC drone and corporate cheerleader.

Yeah, I think it would probably be a mistake, too, but he'd be a damn sight better than somebody like Bayh.

4. People speaking for labor issues has been absent from the dem party?
Uh, there are only 2 major partys and one protects labor by speaking for it, one doesn't.
