I voted for Bush, now I can't wait to vote against him

I voted for Bush, now I can't wait to vote against him. This from a man during a roundtable discussion of Colorado voters on Jim Lehers News Hour. There are a lot more like this guy out there. My neighbor in 2000 had Bush signs in his window and lawn. This year he has Kerry signs.

2. Yep
Had long talk with folks last night who just returned from the Winter Florida residence.... no more Bush for them. My mother is so mad and so upset over this war in Iraq - and the blatent fact that Bush* lied to get us in it - she was really hand-wringing - and said "but do you think Kerry will get us out"..... we have GOT to get out of this mess Bush* has created....

This is the hugest leap I have EVER seen my mother take.

8. Sadly, I fear your mother's fears of Kerry may be well founded
*MANY* of us worry that he wouldn't extract us, either.

I truly believe there are many people who are expressing exactly what your mother has expressed, which is why Kerry should be giving a clear statement that he will get us out IMMEDIATELY. So many Kerry people are saying "he needs to play it cool right now", but that's NOT answering the questions of all those who want to turn from Bushwa to something more positive. Without those answers, votes will inevitably be lost.

The time has come.

4. Great to hear!
We all have stories like that. I know about 4 people in that category.

A man with a son serving in Baghdad called Randi today and mentioned that all the soldiers he knew were planning to vote for Kerry.

5. My new CPA voted for Bush and now will vote for Kerry.
She a moderate Republican type and said she was sorry she didn't know more about Bush when she voted in 2000. A lot of Bush voters in 2000 trusted the media and found out they were wrong to do that!

What I worry about is that people like her don't understand that it isn't just Bush, it's the GOP. Oh, we have so much work to do.

7. a follow-up question
My experience has been that I know approximately 6-7 people who voted for Bush* in 2000 who have stated - quite emphatically - that they're voting for Kerry this year.

Has anyone encountered a Gore voter who's switching to Bush this year? I haven't. Given the close results of the 2000 race, this dynamic may very well determine the outcome this year (barring Diebold-style election theft).

13. Thats a problem
Thats a problem for Bush, see there are few if none who voted for Gore, but there are many who voted for Bush who will now vote for Kerry. I hate to say it this far out, but this race is over.

9. Same in my conservative town
In the last few months the letters to the editor section of our conservative newspaper is at least 75% anti-GOP. We have "former" Republicans who have never voted Dem volunteering and attending our Kerry MeetUps...I think they are the most pissed.

I saw three Kerry bumperstickers in the Office Max parking lot last evening...no bush.

10. FWIW
I have never voted for anyone who was not a Republican and I will not be voting for Bush. I will not vote for any national level Republican this year. You should hear what I tell them when they call wanting another campaign donation. I will have to consider whether or not to vote for the top of the ticket at all. I just don't see the difference between Kerry and Bush, except that he is not an idiot, crazy, and a sociopath who has surrounded himself with psycopaths. This is not meant to knock the Dem candidate on a Dem board, I just really don't see why Dems like this guy. He strikes me as a Bush lite. I listen and listen hoping to hear something come out of his mouth to make me like him, but it just isn't there. Oh well, I guess anybody but Bush is good enough for most.

11. My Dad is a Republican WWII Vet for Kerry after being Bushwacked
Edited on Wed May-12-04 06:10 PM by wishlist
To his regret, he believed the Bush campaign and media lies about how Bush was an honest moderate compassionate conservative and a uniter not a divider- and has regretted his vote for Bush ever since.
He would love for either Edwards or Clark to run with Kerry.
