Weinsteins, Disney reach deal on "Fahrenheit 911"

LOS ANGELES, May 12 (Reuters) - Miramax Films co-chiefs Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein have reached a deal with The Walt Disney Co. (nyse: DIS - news - people) allowing them to find a new distributor for director Michael Moore's controversial documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," which Disney refused to distribute.

"We are very happy that Disney has agreed to sell 'Fahrenheit 911' to Bob and Harvey," Miramax spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said in a statement.

Under the agreement, Harvey and Bob Weinstein would acquire the rights to the film.
