They are perhaps the craziest group of people you will ever hear. Unfortunately, there are a number of people I know - who are church going, God-fearing, intellectuals, who share the same sentiments.

For most of us, this is hate speech at its worst, but it appears to have some weight with a lot of people in this country.

There is a Matthew Shepherd scholarship being given to a gay student at the high school graduation ceremony. They have announced they will be there to protest. Iowa City is a very liberal community, they will not find anyone here to welcome them. I don't understand why good "Christians" can't find anything more productive to do with there time than harass a bunch of high school students on one of the most important days in their lives.
