Is Chimpy headed for a big loss in November?
Edited on Wed May-12-04 03:36 PM by Sandpiper
While the polls are still fairly close, an incumbent president seeking reelection usually either wins big or loses big.

For Example:

Clinton 1996 - won big
Bush 1992 - lost big
Reagan 1984 - won big
Carter 1980 - lost big
Nixon 1972 - won big
Johnson 1964 - won big

The fact that Bush's approval rating with 6 months to go is only around 46% makes me think that privately, Rove and the rest of Bushco are starting to panic.

The war isn't getting any better, the Dow has dipped back below 10,000, and gas prices keep spiraling upwards. On top of that, Bush's multi million dollar barrage of negative ads has had no appreciable effect.

I think Bush is starting to lose the country and is headed for a big loss in November. That's why I think Bushco is going to cheat like hell to stay in power.

13. Yes he did. It was a landslide by electoral standards
Clinton won by about 5 percent, which is not considered a close election. It's enough of a margin to give you a sizable electoral majority.

Maybe Kerry will get 300-350 electoral votes, and win the popular vote.

A 2-3% percent margin in the popular vote.

12. That's about what I was thinking
I think the electoral vote margin will be 100+, and the popular vote margin 2-3%.

15. My Magic 8 Ball says NO.
It's going to be razor close and the election will turn on Ohio. The winner there is the next president.

18. As long as he looses
& gets his butt out of our White House!

I would love a landslide, & watch him slink back to Texas, but as long as he is gone, that will be enough.

19. Bush will do what it takes to stay in power
Martial law, another 9-11 and calling off elections.

He's already planted the weapons. The Mehr News Agency covered the planting back in March.

20. I'll be shocked if we win...
1) Too many October surprise potentials - Osama; WMD; terror attack in NY or LA results in martial law in that bastion of liberalism, swinging the rest of the state Red; terror attacks unite Americans behind the War President

2) BBV

3) Right Wing media is more powerful than ever.
