Not too big a deal - except it was a portent of things to come. Remember? Chaney had just had another heart attack, and Bush went to see him in the hospital. He came out on the steps and announced that Chaney was doing fine and had NOT NOT HAD A HEART ATTACK.

Just a little later, Chaney's doctors came on the TV and announced that Chaney had had a heart attack.

As I said not a big deal in and of itself. Was Bush lying or just displaying the horrible ineptitude that we now know is common with him.

I was just curious to know which lie you remember as the very first one.

He said he was all for the CHIP program in Texas.

He lies as a matter of routine. It's not ineptitude, it's flagrant contempt for the rights of the public.
