It's really disgusting. These are the same guys who constantly say that the democrats want U.S. casualties in Iraq and accuse of us championing bad news so that we "can get our power back." (hannity).

But then this horrible, horrible video of this kid being butchered surfaces and they're eating it up. Sure they express mock outrage, but Hannity. and co. are giddy as hell to get the torture scandal off the front page. Goldberg ([e-mail]) was gloating on her page with "now who wants to release more prisoner photos?" Drudge ([e-mail]) is linking to it from the top of his page. Savage and Beck keep playing the audio of it.

It really says something about the character of the so-called 'conservative' movement if, after seeing this footage, the first thing they think is "How can I exploit this?"

The left is symbolised to the right as Relativistic Morality. In order to promote their claim that Moral Authority is the only valid route they will champion anything that seems to be the result of liberal ideals leading to a moral failure. This is why they bring Dems down with sex scandals rather than real issues of governance. Its because what they hate is moral relativism and they seek to show any flaw they can find in it.

In the case of Berg they will use this to promote their notion that the Arabs are animals. Any attempt by a liberal to suggest that we should treat them with respect will be met with anger and a flash of that poor man sitting there waiting to be executed. They have to justify their desire for vengence and hatred in the face of our demands for tolerance. This is just the sort of thing they desire most for such issues.
