War Crimes - Bush/PNAC prepared for them from day 1
From the day the Bush/PNAC bunch took over they began a relentless effort to remove the US from virtually all global treaties and agreements.

They tried to prevent the creation of the International Criminal Court and when they failed to do so they convinced dozens of nations around the world to exept us from the provisions of that body.

Why? Why would they do that? What were they scared of? Is this how a nation acts if it intends on obeying the rule of law. The US should have been the first nation to sign (Clinton signed, Bush removed the signiture).

I wrote a piece about this:

I think the record speaks for itself. I with the media would start doing their job!
Peace,
Jesse

3. because the US doesn't trust some countries
to not use it as a method of hammering the US...think ..oh..Syria...Iran...Cuba...
not an unreasonable position....why subject yourself to the judgement of North Korea?

5. You would think...
You would think that they would create some reasonable guidelines that would prevent abuse of the system. After all they are starting from scratch creating a new body. They may as well do it right.

6. Well
It took the Senate 40 years to ratify the Genocide convention, so what makes you think they'd be willing to ratify the ICC?

10. the public has no clue
People I speak to never even heard of the ICC, never mind the treaty withdrawal. And I'm talking about relatively well informed adults. The media has totally ignored this....and the Kerry campaign has not brought out issues such as this...which are damning and could change minds.
