Berg was killed by Black Ops, the motive is to ramp up the War

Berg Was a US Prisoner in Iraq: How did Al Qaeda get him?

West Chester contractor missing in Iraq (May 08, 2004, Associated Press) http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/politics/8621773.htm

Nick Berg was on his way out of Iraq. He had been released from the prison where he had been held for 13 days by Iraqi police for reasons he said he did not know. Nick Berg, 26, owns a business called Prometheus Methods Tower Service Inc. He first went to Iraq on Dec. 21. He stayed until Feb. 1, making contact with a company that indicated there would likely be work for him later. But he returned on March 14 and there was no work, so he began traveling. He usually called home once a day and e-mailed several times; Michael Berg is his business manager, and they needed to stay in touch... When FBI agents arrived at the Berg's West Chester home on March 31, they were relieved to know their son was alive, but in jail. The agents questioned them about various details that only they and their son would know about. Jerri Williams, spokeswoman for the Philadelphia FBI office, said the agency was "asked to interview the parents regarding Mr. Berg's purpose in Iraq." On April 5, the Bergs filed suit in federal court in Philadelphia, contending that their son was being held illegally by the U.S. military in Iraq. The next day, April 6, Nick Berg was released. Nick Berg said he would come home through Jordan, Turkey or Kuwait... The Bergs have hounded the State Department, the FBI and the International Committee of the Red Cross, seeking information. Michael Berg said the State Department sent an official to Nick Berg's hotel, where an employee told the official they had not heard of him. (photo of Berg in orange jumpsuit on website)

Beheaded hostage 'had been warned to leave Iraq'

A US civilian hostage who was beheaded in Iraq had been warned to leave the country but refused to, US officials said today... 26-year-old Nick Berg spoke to his parents on March 24 - when he was later detained by Iraqi police at a Mosul checkpoint - and told them he would return home on March 30. He was then handed over to US officials and detained for 13 days. His father, Michael, said his son had not been allowed to make phone calls or contact a lawyer.

The FBI investigated Berg because of "suspicions". Must have found out the parents were anti-war.

The FBI saw Nick Berg, the American civilian beheaded in Iraq, three times while he was being detained by 'Iraqi' police, the U.S.-led occupation authority said Wednesday. An Islamist Web site Tuesday carried a video clip of Berg's beheading, with a statement saying a group linked to al Qaeda carried it out in revenge for the abuse of Iraqis by U.S. troops. Dan Senor, spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, said Berg had not been in U.S. custody before or after his arrest by Iraqi police on March 24. "My understanding is that they suspected that he was engaged in suspicious activity," Senor told a news conference.

Parents blame Bush for son's execution

--Parents of a US contractor executed by Islamic militants in Iraq are blaming the Bush regime for his death, saying that US authorities had contributed to the tragedy by unlawfully detaining their son for nearly two weeks before his disappearance. Michael Berg claimed yesterday that his son, Nick, was held by US authorities without access to a telephone or lawyer because of suspicions that he was an insurgent or terrorist. By the time he was finally released in early April, according to Mr Berg, the security situation had so deteriorated that it was difficult for him to make his way home. "That's really what cost my son his life, the fact that the United States government saw fit to keep him in custody for 13 days without any of his due process or civil rights," Mr Berg said... An official familiar with the case acknowledged that FBI agents had interviewed Mr Berg, but said he was in Iraqi - not American - custody. The official was unable to clarify the legal difference between the two, given the US occupation. But Mr Berg's father disputed this, saying it was "the FBI", when asked in a radio interview who had detained his son. "We named Rumsfeld as the responsible person, and I still hold him responsible," Mr Berg said. "It's the whole Patriot Act. It's the whole feeling of this country that rights don't matter any more because there are terrorists about," he added.

4. Vicious RWers have never shied away from saying
what they think should be done to those who do not agree with their crusade. Death is usually what they think should happen to anyone who does not submit, and they are proud of their conviction that anyone who does not agree deserves to die. savage, coulter, etc. talk nonstop about visiting death upon all dissenters. If the Berg family was suing for the return of their son and hinted at being anything but wholeheartedly behind the destruction of all none chistians, then it comes as no surprise that their son received the same fate as Margie Schoedinger.

and they want president Bush reelected. Why? Because he's an easily manipulated dipshit who plays right into their hands. Expect them to try and help in anyway possible.

13. I second that motion
As much as I hate Bushco, the tinfoil angle on this is ridiculous. It's looking for the extra-ordinary reason for an ordinary occurance - brutality and retaliation in war.

And there are no Iraqi prisons. While the US occupies Iraq they are US operated prisons.

7. Free Republic had his father on a hate thread / turning people in to govt
Edited on Wed May-12-04 01:45 PM by Tinoire
3/7/04 - Berg's father was listed at FR as an Enemy of the State
and they were turning everyone on ANSWER's list in to the proper authorities.

Makes you wonder who got the FBI etc to be interrogating the Bergs in their home and Nick in Iraq.

Freepers - had a hand in this with their hatred and Nazi fondness of turning people in to the Gestapo. If you have the strength, ignore that hero shit they're posting now and click on the url in this post. 281 posts of Nazis picking out names of people they're going to turn in to the Gestapo. Several DUers have saved that entire thread on hard drives in case it ever comes in useful.

March 7, 2004

Right before they pick up Berg in Iraq & the FBI shows up at the parents door demanding to know his "purpose" in Iraq.

The coincidence here is frightening.

Well, sailor. I guess it is time for me to call your commanding officer and see what he thinks about this.

Hi Doug! Good hard work! As I see it, this is a free speech issue. If these useful idiots want to ID themselves as useful idiots, they have that right. But you're absolutely right about military ID's (and IMHO) ID's of those in positions of sensitivity with regard to national security (DoD contractors, University employees with access to defense research, etc.)
Those names should be culled and forwarded to the FBI, and I suspect that they are being culled as we commune.

and yada yada yada about traitors, traitors, traitors.

12. chris floyd? tinfoiler

11/1/02

In other words--and let's say this plainly, clearly and soberly, so that no one can mistake the intention of Rumsfeld's plan--the United States government is planning to use "cover and deception" and secret military operations to provoke murderous terrorist attacks on innocent people. Let's say it again: Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and the other members of the unelected regime in Washington plan to deliberately foment the murder of innocent people--your family, your friends, your lovers, you--in order to further their geopolitical ambitions.

For P2OG is not designed solely to flush out terrorists and bring them to justice--a laudable goal in itself, although the Rumsfeld way of combating terrorism by causing it is pure moral lunacy. (Or should we use the Regime's own preferred terminology and just call it "evil"?) No, it seems the Pee-Twos have bigger fish to fry. Once they have sparked terrorists into action--by killing their family members? luring them with loot? fueling them with drugs? plying them with jihad propaganda? messing with their mamas? or with agents provocateurs, perhaps, who infiltrate groups then plan and direct the attacks themselves?--they can then take measures against the "states/sub-state actors accountable" for "harboring" the Rumsfeld-roused gangs. What kind of measures exactly? Well, the classified Pentagon program puts it this way: "Their sovereignty will be at risk."

17. Why?
> provoke murderous terrorist attacks on innocent people.

Why in the world would they try to provoke an attack that may or may not come when in the past they've faked terrorist attacks? Why not just do them rather than provoke them?

14. Any idea where the video first popped up?
People were looking for links to the video last night and the first site they found that was at the following link. The video has been removed since.

http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/iraq2vediom.wmv

The site belongs to "Northeast Intelligence Network" and is run by Douglas Hagmann. Doug is one of those self-made al Qaeda, terrorist 'experts' that Tom Ridge likes to use as one of his private intel sources. Odd that this fellow who is such a tool for HS, should be one of the first one to put this video out there?

http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/faq.asp

So my question is where did Hagmann get this file? Is this something that is all over the place already, and he just grabbed a copy? Or is he an original source? I'm curious who showed this video first and where do they say it came from?

Some senses have grown acute during the Bush years, have they not?

It's a cold, cold place to which many of us have come: that the regime in Washington is fascist, murderous, and capable of anything.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A Jordanian extremist suspected of bloody suicide attacks in Iraq was killed some time ago in U.S. bombing and a letter outlining plans for fomenting sectarian war is a forgery, a statement allegedly from an insurgent group west of the capital said.
