Is it OK to strike mosques now ?
Now that we are so pissed off and angry, is it OK to go into the holy cities and get these terrorists? At least, we now have an excuse, do we not? And that seem to be what is happening. We have been manipulated into this latest military maneuver...Going after al Sadr.
But it's ok now, isn't it?

4. And at the same time....
the wingnuts are playing the American people like violins - they now have the people so angry and worked up, it doesn't matter what we do now. It is OK. And, in the bigger picture, they are more worried abut American opinion than foreign opinion....IMO :)

3. If the mosque is used as a fortress to launch attacks from
or store weapons and ammunition it loses its status as a mosque and becomes a simple target.

5. Holy sites have never been holy in war.
Anyone remember Monte Cassino?

Nazis occupied a monastery in Italy and despite all efforts to starve them out, would not surrender the high ground. The monastery was subsequently reduced to rubble.

The taliban had no problem destroying age old statues of the Buddha. There is nothing holy on earth any longer!
