3. I have a message for the freeps
Why aren't ya celebratin' now? Why aren't ya celebratin' like the Iraqis were supposed to be dancing in the streets passing out chocolates?

Anyway it doesn't matter, most of you are to fat and out of shape to dance...

You are cowardly chickenhawks. You are a disgrace to both this nation and to humanity itself...

I hope your ulcers get worse! Cuz I know you can feel them forming in your rot-gut stomachs.

5. I wonder if the Dow is still a "leading indicator" to them
or is that only when it's going up?

7. Not NOW! 9867 at 1:00 noon
It's down 137 pts right now.

Gosh, does that mean the Pubs will NOT vote for Shrub?

I don't think the stock market #'s really mean the economy is good or bad. I think a much better indicator is unemployment. The REAL unemployment that incorporates thos that have fallen off the gov't rolls. And of course, the NEW jobs creation.....what are they? If somebody takes a job at Walmart out of sheer desparation, and their earnings fo from $35-40M to $18M, the economy is still shit!

9. Man, I'd Take That
"If somebody takes a job at Walmart out of sheer desparation, and their earnings fo from $35-40M to $18M, the economy is still shit!"

$18 Million?

At Wal-Mart?

I mean, even though it's $15-20 million less than I was used to... I'd take $18 million.

11. Freepers are likely upper middle-class
I picture them being heavily suburban and affluent.

12. I picture them using public library computers
and bitching about paying taxes for them to have books.

I don't think any affluent suburbanites are praising the Dow breaching the 10000 mark after being there for a long time and slipping below in light of the skyrocketing economy.

16. When the $ falls against the Euro, the Dow goes up
Edited on Wed May-12-04 12:32 PM by info being
When the $ gains against the Euro, it goes down. Fluctuations in the market aren't reflecting new value being created in the economy...it is just an exchange rate game that is affecting the stock market.

17. On long drive home Monday
heard Cavuto on Hannity's radio show. He's Fox's finance guy, right? Well how's this for sophisticate, fair and Balnced analysis:

"The prison scandal is making the the market tank b/c investors are worried that this decreases the chances for W's reelection and they are very concerned about a Kerry presidency." (paraphrased)

I never ever ever *ever* thought it would get this bad in my lifetime.
