Didn't anyone hear Kerry on Imus this morning?
He repeated something very important. He didn't just call for Rumsfeld's resignation last week over the abuse pictures.

He called for Rumsfeld's resignation almost 6 months ago because of Rumsfeld's "miscalculations" every step of the way in regard to the war on terror and the Iraq war. He said we cannot afford to have a defense leader who is so prone to miscalculations.

I hope the transcript is up soon, because it was really a great example of Kerry bringing the hammer down.

1. do you know where to get a transcript for Imus' shows?
there have been other times I've wanted to read a transcript, but haven't been able to find one. Not on MSNBC or anywhere else...

9. Yeppers, Heard the President, But a Transcript of IMUS?
Edited on Wed May-12-04 10:20 AM by UTUSN
Would they be able to print the words "stab...I'm going to KILL you" at length? Btw, Kskiska's thread on JK's "Legendary Lead" in Editorials forum is absolutely great. Also, (ferget where) some cable yakkers were showing the favorability ratings of all the one-termers who went on to LOSE for the May before the election, and Shrub is definitely within the one-term range. Also, my local wingnut radio yakker said he saw somewhere that voters make up their minds six months before the election, which would be, uh, NOW.

4. I Saw it.........

He called for Rumsfeld to resign a long time ago, way before the pictures came out. Is
someone saying he just called for Rumsfeld to resign ?

If they are, they are liars. He just stated it again after the Iraqi prisoner abuse story.

11. Yes, they are. And Inhofe implied Kerry was using Rumsfeld's resignation
just for fundraising.

6. Kerry nails it again
He is doing really well lately in his campaign, I have been impressed. Reminds me of what a great choice in him getting the nomination.

7. He was much better than he has been in the past.
Has got to stop with starting to make a point and get up like Tweety and break it off into something he just thought of in the middle. He loses attention that way. Got to finish the point and move on even if he didn't get everything he thought of in. Sometimes he is just too smart for the listener.

Imus was good in letting him speak.

But where is this "Bush is a good guy surrounded by criminals" crap keep coming from. We know he is surrounded by criminals that took a dummy with a name and down home swashbuckling charm crap in order to win. But why can't we get out that he is so damned dumb????? People are going to vote for Mr.Dumas, if we don't make a breakthrough in the media.

10. Btw, I Detest IMUS's Schtick about
JK's supposedly being "his guy" when he is NOT going to vote for him, and never fails to throw in how he really believes Shrub is good and decent but is ONLY surrounded by snakes. Zeus, I detest IMUS.

12. Begala told Imus that he was just bsing about supporting Kerry and
Imus said that he is sticking with Kerry because he really believes Kerry will be a far better president.

Imus does keep pointing out that Bush is a good guy but that he is surrounded by criminals. I think that is his way of saving all the face he can.

16. heheh...
actually, this is a no brainer. Imus does what his wife tells him and she is supporting Kerry based on her newfound environmental concerns and healthcare.

If Imus switches back he'll get an ass kicking. He is SO whipped.

13. I can concede that Bush is good and decent, but incompetent and misguided
Edited on Wed May-12-04 10:26 AM by yellowcanine
We don't have to trash Bush as a person. He probably does mean well. But he is dangerously misguided and incompetent because he thinks he doing God's work and he has surrounded himself with people who think they are doing God's work.

15. I don't think Bush* is good and decent...
a good and decent man is willing to admit mistakes. A good and decent man wouldn't laugh and mock someone like that woman (Carla Faye Tucker?? I think was her name) in Texas who was being executed on death row. Good and decent people just do not do things like this president has done and/or allowed to be done.

17. I don't think Bush is a decent person at all.
Edited on Wed May-12-04 10:55 AM by blm
I do believe those who DO think so use it as a crutch while dumping on his advisors. Like the way Imus does to explain his desertion from the proBush ranks.

18. By their fruits shall ye know them.
Okay, so I don't know the nature of Bush's personal relationship with God, nor do I know the thoughts of his heart.

BUT -- and it's a big "but" -- I do know that Bush's actions show that he cares a good deal more about whether Paris Hilton has to pay taxes on her inheritance than whether the cop on the beat stays safe (he cut community policing), whether we suffer a chemical attack on a train tanker (Bush is for "voluntary" security), and so forth. Look at who benefits by his actions and whether or not he really supports peace and security. The answer is pretty clear.

19. Kerry should be careful talking about miscalculation.
Seems to me he voted for the IWR. That looks like a miscalculation to me.

This isn't Rumsfeld's first or even his worst mistake. It's just the latest in a long line of stupidity.

See the April 16 entry in my blog, Surprise! for a discussion of Rumsfeld's incompetence.
