Grocery store line wisdom: It's the media's fault.
A couple of employees going on while ringing us up about how if the media had never publicized those photos, that nice boy would still be alive. They'll do anything for ratings, or something to that effect.

We've obviously got some work left to do in Ohio.

1. That's the RNC line
Freedom of press is the problem. Except if we didn't give them anything to publish to begin with, there wouldn't be a problem at all.

3. I heard this one on talk radio yesterday....
... you can lead a sheep to water, and you can make it drink.

8. It goes way beyond that
You can lead a sheep to a bottle of rat poison, and you can make it drink. And, better yet, while it is drinking, it will arrogantly ridicule of anyone who isn't drinking the poison.

4. That's some convoluted logic!
As if the Media hadn't shown the photos, those who killed Berg would never have known of the tortures going on in their Country? As if the acts of torture wouldn't have existed if it were not for photos'. I just can't wrap my mind around just twisted logic. Too early in the morning I guess.

9. If a tree falls in a forest...
does it make a sound?

If a tree falls on a shrub... does anyone care?

How's that for convoluted logic?

5. We'd have to take every AM radio station off the air
for at least two weeks before you could force any of them to think beyond Limbaugh, regrettably. Or any of the Cincinnati or Dayton wingnuts -- they grow their own around here who are even more dogmatic and vitriolic than the national ones, though I know 'worse than Limbaugh' sounds pretty dramatic to anybody who doesn't live in SW Ohio. This is where they get all their news and information. Just like lots of people who are more leftish get most or all of their news and information from The Daily Show. People can't be arsed to go out of their way to find out the truth anymore, and then they shoot the messenger when the message displeases them.

Do I hear violins?

13. Hey hey hey
not all grocery stores have tabloid papers. I worked at one that had Ad-Busters, Mother Earth ect ect. ;) but I do know what your saying.

We've got to bring back the 'Fairness Doctrine' support Air American Radio and Take Back the Media and there's many more that I haven't named.

7. At my train stop this morning
Our metro paper had a huge headline with one word: EXECUTED!

Person 1: *big eye roll* "Yeah and we're the only ones who are supposed to worry about how we act, nobody else does."

Person 2: "Yeah, sheesh, like the eye-rackies worry about the Geneva Conventions. I mean their guys only got sodomized. They still have their heads. That's not so bad."

Person 3: "What we have to do is get rid of George Bush!"

My little heart went pitter pat with joy and then this...

Person 3: "Cuz all he's good for is talk. We need to bomb them into a parking lot. Should have done it last night. Problem solved."

there would continue to be torture and murder of iraqians. unfortunately the red cross and amnesty was good enough for us to quit torturing adn murdering others.

12. My thoughts are that this is utter BS
The Iraqis know exactly what we're doing to them... The only differance that would have been made by not publishing the photos is that we'd have no idea what we're doing over there...
