Despite my hesitations about Kerry, I've never cited his "Instances of Doucheitude" as the author of this site does in "Instances of Doucheitude and Why it Doesn't Matter."

However, this is a fun site for your skeptical friends with a serious message conveyed in a series of essays including, "How Fucked We are Right Now," "How Fucked We will be With 4 More Years of
George W. Bush," "Why This is Not the Time or the Place to Vote for a 3rd Party Candidate" and "Why Every Conservative Should Seriously Consider Voting Democrat this Fall."

If the traditional online fare isn't persuading that obstinate Vermin Supreme supporter, this might help.

1. My thoughts exactly.
Dean was my guy. Dean's not there anymore.

As Jeneane Garofalo said, "At this point, a vote for Bush is a character flaw."

2. We don't need this kkkarl rove sanctioned crap. We NEED to appreciate
the merits of John Kerry.

He is a good man, and has devoted his life to public service. He's not on PNAC payroll, and will get this mess in the White House cleaned up.

WE need to speak positively and effectively about Kerry, as he will beat bush soundly in November. Any other message helps THEM.

4. We need to take whatever support we can get
however grudging it may be. Believe me. There are MILLIONS of people out there who are severely pissed at Smirky but who REALLY don't like Kerry. Let them have their site. We need them. We really really do.

In Louisiana when Edwin Edwards (now in jail for bribery) was running for governor against David (Klan) Duke, the bumper stickers said: "Vote for the Crook--It's Important".

If we are going to limit ourselves to only the pristine voters, all is lost.

6. i agree
I've been trying to convince a conservative friend of mine to vote Kerry. He hates Bush, but he thinks Kerry is a puss. I haven't been able to move him beyond "I won't vote for Bush, but I don't think I'll vote for Kerry because he's so weak."

A site like this, which speaks to such people on their own terms, can prove helpful.

5. Some will never believe JK has merits
Most people will, but there are a hard core group who are so cynical that they could never admit that JK is all the things you say and more. If this site helps them get past their mistaken belief that a third party vote doesn't help Bush stay in power, I am all for it.

(Actually the site-owner seems pretty pro-Kerry to me, and is pretty darn good at explaining what is at stake)

You and I will spend our time talking about JKs many many good qualities and merits and positive differences)

7. Are you asking for blind allegiance?
I wasn't aware the Democrats demanded that. If people have questions about Kerry they should ask them.
Should people go around bashing Kerry because he's not their first choice? Absolutly not, we do need to hang together because even if Kerry isn't your first, second or third choice he is all we have at this point. Kerry is light years better than the sub-human that is in the White House now.

10. Um, Rove didn't sanction this site
In fact, from what I've read at the site, it would be high on his list of sites to shut down under anti free speech laws he dreams of having.

8. It's a healthy impulse.
People should not be blind to what they're getting themselves into. Kerry is flawed (like all candidates for office) yet the alternative is far, far worse. Getting annoyed at people who are not all that enamoured with John Kerry will just piss them off and risk them withdrawing their vote. So long as they're there for thirty seconds on election day, what they say the rest of the time is of no concern.

9. Can you PLEASE...
Shorten your thread header or break it up in some way that doesn't screw up the formatting of the entire GD page?

Thanks!

12. Hmm
It's shorter than many other subject lines on the GD page and within the character limit. Are you sure it's this one that is causing problems?

11. If you look at the site...
... the "douchebag" comment is tongue in cheek and pretty much debunked.

From the article...

" John Kerry is a douchebag, but I'm voting for him anyway. Well, not really. That is to say, he's not actually a douchebag, or not nearly as much of one as what the media, George W., and even perhaps John Kerry himself have made him out to be. "

14. Anyway, no, John Kerry is not a douche bag.
I happen to like him and his chances at winning the top office from Bush very much.

I can appreciate this person trying to sway a few people to vote Kerry instead of Bush or Nader, but I guess I can't appreciate their premise. I think a "Why?" link is needed on that page.
