1. I think it may have received too many hits
Because Drudge had a link up to it for the video and pictures of Nick Berg.

2. But it says the account has been suspended.
That sounds ominous.

3. "This Account Has Been Suspended "
"Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible."

It's possible that he forgot to pay the utility bill. Maybe more likely, considering the photos he had posted there, there was a sudden server overload. But there's another possibility .........

5. Whatever happened, it's back on now.
And the feature piece is that video of Mr. Berg's execution (with suitable warning as to the extremely graphic nature of it).

I thought I had a strong stomach, but from what I've seen here so far, I definitely will NOT watch it. It's good that it's available as a historical record, and I'll try to save the video file onto my HD. But there is NO "redeeming social value" in viewing it. If you plan on viewing, try to imagine that the parents of Mr. Berg are sitting alongside you.

On the web are plenty of grisly photos (lynchings in USA, Mai Lai, and PARTICULARLY that shot of a RVN general blowing out a suspect brain's at point blank distance). I've referered to those at times to make a point. But that video went well beyond the line.

6. Excellent that it's back
I was concerned that somehow it got hacked or shut down for a long time or worse.

7. They kept reproducing entire essays instead of linking to the originals...
They continually repost essays, possibly without proper attribution, which hurts leftists. In other words, they would repost an ENTIRE essay of, say, Julian Borger (I am just using this as an example.) Hence, the Guardian's Borger would receive less hits on the Guardian then it would if informationclearinghouse merely linked to it.

Now, you're thinking, 'so what?' But, it IS a big deal. As, we need these editorialists to have their proper amount of hits tallied, so that their bosses see they are WIDELY READ.

If they were shut down for that reason, then I would say that's fine with me.

8. You're right. That always bothered me too.
They passed them off almost as if they were ICH articles - at least some visitors might have thought so. Thankfully they've changed that and are linking properly to the originating sites.
