So I watched the beheading
and aside for the natural repulsion I had and the anger toward the masked cowards I felt:

1. What a waste for tis man to have lost is life for such a useless cause

and

2. If I multiplied my anger times thousands and you begin to understand terrorism against an aggressor.

1. #2
is the part we collectively choose to ignore, time and time again. We apparently already have. We aren't accepting responsibility even now, after these photos of people being raped and having attack dogs set loose on them at OUR doing.

2. How can people watch this thing?
I couldn't even fathom watching it. Just seeing the guy sitting there in front of the masked men chills me to the bone, and thinking about what happened makes me queasy.

I'm already sickened by this war and by so many in this country's lust for it. I couldn't bring myself to watch anything that in addition to being so horrifying, might feed into that lust.

3. I'm with you.
there is no point. I have an imagination.
I'll note his death and grieve for him and his family but I am no ghoul.

4. Nice blanket name calling
I watched the video. I got no sick thrill from it and, oddly enough, the most chilling part for me was the scream as they began to kill him (which wasn't on camera).

I notice how very white the hands in that video are. I note shock and surprise in the scream that was so chilling. It all adds to the growing list of questions that, when answered, will give us fuller understanding of the situation which ain't "they" bad "us" good, FYI.

Could be lots of things. Like who really killed this guy? What can we expect during our illegal occupation of Iraq?

The whole world should see this and know, this is the BFEE legacy.

Julie

13. I don't see it as namecalling. It's asking a question. After reading
how many have watched it, I wonder where they get the ability as well. It is enough to know that it happened, I don't have to see it. :hi:

15. It's A Helluva Thing To Witness
Fortunately, Some Of Us Have Watched It - And It Does Raise Many many Questions Which Have Been Raised In Prior Threads - That Said, I Watched It Once And I Don't Want To Watch It Again To See If I Can Make Sense Of Others Claims (The Lack Of Blood However, Is Clearly Apparent)

6. Somewhere out there...
Is another video of another beheading, from The Balkans, or Chechnya or Afghanistan(Russian Version) where someone gets beheaded. I literally saw it by mistake and I never want to see it again.

There are those, over there, who like this manner of dispatching an enemy. The initial cut is done in the same manner as the Halal way of slaughtering an animal. Message is just that: they are slaughtering an animal. Animals slaughtering animals. Interesting concept and it just doesn't matter whose side they are on. Knife, gun, F16...it's all the same.

The thing is that young Mr. Berg had NO FRIGGING REASON to be over there, seeking fortune. I don't give a crusty one if he did buy a brick press. I don't give a damn if he was good-intentioned. It is a vicious war zone, and it was just a matter of time befor there would be a horrible retaliation for Al Ghraib.

People die in war zones. They die horribly. That is a lesson that Mr. Berg should have learned and one that his deifiers should try to remember.

There is a time and a place to be Horatio Alger. Iraq, c. 2004, just ain't one of them.

16. They use the knife Bush used the needle!(iv)
Some of the victims in Texas were no doubt just that, innocent victims! Dead is Dead! Bush was proud of his record when asked about it on national TV during the debate in 2000! He grinned and smirked about it and gladly gave the number he'd killed when asked about it that night! He laughed and joked about the one woman begging for her life! How is Shrub any better than the cowards who did this in Iraq? Dead is still Dead!

10. I've seen stills only, but the effect
is also:

Increasing 100-fold my anger against the incredibly bad decisions of the Bush White House.

NONE of this would be happening if not for the lies, deceit and treachery of Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld and company.

14. Anger
It'll be interesting where the majority of the anger is directed. I think as horrible as the images are and that people want the masked murderers caught and brought to justice that there seems to be a lot of anger toward Bush for brining this horror to us.

17. I watched it because in one of the other threads
there was speculation that they beheaded a corpse. Dead is dead and this doesnt diminish the horror at all. After seeing it I totally believe that Mr. Berg was already dead when they filmed it. I'm no forensic scientist but it simply doesn't look realistic. And Im not going to get graphic here. A few things don't add up, I have no theory but something tells me that there is more to this then meets the eye. I really try not to get into conspiricy theories however something about this, timing?
I also agree with Hubert above. Bush is no better....a man who makes fun of a woman about to be executed has no more morals then these cowards.
