Poll question: Which Repuke will run in 2008?
As of now, a president can have only one term. So which Repuke do you think will run in 2008?

he is a particularly odious individual. Yeah, I know, so is the fuckin' bushler, but I don't see friSSt being able to pull off that bogus folksiness.

Frist is already exploring it
I think I heard on CNN a few months back that he had started looking into a run in 2008...

2. Jeb's.................
the heir apparent. They wanted everything to work out this way so there would be a Bush Dynasty. Happy to say I think the American people have had enough "Bush" in their lives. At least I hope they have the good sense to stop the Bushwacking after Dumbya has finished making America the most hated country on earth.

3. Agreed; I doubt Jeb will run in '08:
He will want to spare his family the embarrassment of a third one-termer.

8. I dont think the GOP would even support that type of dynasty.
I think we will probably see a search for fresh faces on the part of the GOP primary voters.

There have been pretty long lasting political dynastys in the USA..the best Republican example is the Taft family in Ohio. true. but they rarely occur in such a "dynastic sucession' in the same office, one after the other.

19. That was during the Days of the Old Republic
But those days are over, perhaps forevere.

Imperial Amerika is a wholly different country with different mores and a much greater lawlessness and immorality that the Old Republic.

Of course it could happen like that.

And GOP "Primary Voters" have as much to say about the Imperial Family as the rest of us (they just don't know it yet):

NOTHING.

Jeb. As sure as Hafez Assad's kid is "President" of Syria.

You are still thinking like you live in the Old American Republic.

You don't.

7. Chuck Hagel.
I think he's positioning himself for a run.

He's getting alot of face time in the media lately, and he's also distancing himself somewhat from the Bush faction in the GOP,which would make him appealing to potential independent or swing voters.

Yet he is also a very solid conservative Republican, at least by voting record, which should sell well, too, for the party faithfull.

I don't see Jeb winning the nom. That would be way too dynastic, even for the GOP.

9. Depends
If bush wins this year, jeb will be a shoo-in for '08. If bush loses, all bets are off. The repubs will eat their own in their frenzy to whip up a new messiah. Libby Dole, anyone?

12. Romney
He's a strong contender for the GOP nomination in '08 (or '12).

Oh, and it's Mitt, not Milt.

Don't ask, I don't know what his parents were thinking, either.

quote of his

"On a personal basis, I don't favor abortion," he said. "However, as governor of the commonwealth, I will protect a woman's right to choose under the laws of the country and the commonwealth. That's the same position I've had for many years."

16. It is MiTT Romney not MiLt Romney...
be he Mitt or Milt Romney is in come 2008...he is sucking up to the President like a valet in Hitler's bunker.
He is also striking trendy little rightical chic poses for the delectation of hard core GOP primary voters.
And he is in this thing come 2008...assuming he is of course re-elected in 2006.
It will all be for naught though, when the time comes the Bush family, his political patrons in every way, will turn on Romney the furies out of hell.
It'll be glorious to watch for the confirmed Mitt-hater 24-7 adverts running in NH "proving" Mitt is a coward, a chronic masturbator, a aficionado of high taxes and a molester of teenaged boys.
Mitt will be down on his knees screaming for mercy like a stuck pig before a single ballot is cast I assure you...
Why?
Because La Famiglia Arbusto thinks Romney is a courtier (and he is quite frankly) and courtiers never come before Princes of the Blood-ever.
Jeb must have his chance to become Overseer of Plantation USA just like his brother Georgie...and if Mitt gets in the way-he'll be crushed like John McCain.

He's campaigning now. He's a hawk, but he's no Chickenhawk. I think the mainstream Republican will be relieved to rid themselves of the neocons (Jeb) & go with the safest & most popular choice - McCain.

I would bet my last dollar on it.

The guy's ego is fucking huge!

Unfortunately the dick is from my state! :puke:

Can't tell you how many of the "oh and he's a senator AND a doctor and look at another amazing thing he's done" I have had to hear. I'm embarrassed that he represents my state.

35. They put McCain through hell last time.
I really don't think he'd feel it was worth it to go through that shit again. Mainly I doubt that he would ever put his family through it again.

I still cannot understand how he can even utter one word of support for Shrub after what they did to him in 2000. It baffles me everytime I hear him doing it.

33. DEFINITELY Rudy, after being named GWB's 2004 running mate
Rudy is one power-hungry, scary mofo, and unlike *, he's no puppet. He's got real skills to do serious long-term damage if he's not beaten.

At first glance, he seems like he's pretty moderate, and on the issues, I would say that he genuinely is. BUT, there is only one thing Rudy cares about, and that's power. Ever see Martin Sheen in the Stephen King movie "The Dead Zone"? That's the real Rudy...to a T.
