...and a chance to see if Karen Hughes and Karl Rove can rise above re-election rhetoric. A chance to see if they have the courage to bring him out of hiding, or if they will wrap him in swaddling clothes and send him into the sea of microphones and cameras armed with yesterday's speech and a blank expression.
He spent today campaigning in Arkansas:

I always enjoy seeing the warm smiles in each of our 50 states as the President is greeted. It looks like it was a fine day in Fort Smith.
He also imposed economic sanctions on Syria.
The White House issued a "fact sheet: "Fact Sheet: No Child Left Behind Is Making a Difference for America's Children"
The White House Web Site offers this opportunity for tomorrow:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/ask/question.html"Rob Tappan, Director of Strategic Communications for the Coalition Provisional Authority will take your questions on Iraq tomorrow at 12noon (ET). You can submit your questions now."
One look at DU today and the questions about Iraq that are on the mind of the American people seem pretty clear. I wonder how many of them will be submitted to Rob, and which ones he'll choose to respond to?
As I write this it is 9:00 PM in California, midnight in Washington D.C.
I wonder if the President went to bed at his usual time, and if he has been sleeping peacefully for the past two hours. I wonder if he's awake, at some sort of moment of truth, ready to drop the smirk and deal with what's before him like a man, like the President of the United States who feels that he deserves a second term.
I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
