Is it me or do right-wing assholes really lack creativity?
I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed but I've noticed that hard right-wingers, freepers, wing-nuts, etc... are the least creative, unfunniest and most mind-numbingly stupid people I've ever met. Take Los Angeles Times editorial cartoonist for example:

Dennis Miller is another example... humor that caters to the lowest common denominator, BAD! music, books that suck, violent blockbuster movies, etc.

Ya know?

What a long day it 's been

4. That's the cartoon that got him in trouble...
99.9% of his work is as stupid as that one.

11. This is a classic example of conservative stupidity
I live in L.A. and detest this guy; he's a knee-jerk reactionary with no scruples about demonizing anyone who obstructs the right. When I first saw this cartoon, I got the joke: obviously it's evil Democrats who are killing the defenseless Bush. The conservatives didn't see this, though, seeing only their messiah being attacked. This was one of the classic moments of stupidity and karmic backlash I've ever seen: he was using vicious hate-filled rabble-rousing to quash any dissent, and his masters couldn't even see it. He was left spluttering in his defense, but alas, he never had to stand up with a "hey, look, you guys got it all wrong; I'm always against the left." Sigh.

Someone on this board was sharp enough to also point out that, even though this is largely interpreted as an incident of South Vietnamese brutality, the guy getting shot had just used a bomb to kill civilians.

3. Good observation
I think the left does have the creativity thing in spades. There was some medical study that said something about right wing thinking, but I forget what. Done in England if I recall.

5. They wear awful clothes
too much fingernail stuff, cannot articulate their thoughts, mistreat their pets, always talk about money, call everyone strange who doesn't behave as they do, etc...............

6. I'm refering to creativity...
while some may wear bad clothes, I highly doubt that they designed them either.

7. You are correct
I live in an area full of them and I feel like I am on another planet.
They also don't understand sarcasm which DU abounds in.

9. Sense of humor is a good indicator of intelligence, too...
Lots of people will see the humor when the joke light's lit, but you'll find that the wry, subversive or subtler forms slip by your garden variety unswervative with nary an upturned eyebrow. That is, unless laughter breaks out around them.

You'll also note that their versions of humor often are the ones where someone is hurt or humiliated.

There was a great bit on the Daily Show recently where Junior went to see the Iraqi National Orchestra, and one of the selections was a favorite of the Prez's: Mahler's "Kindertoten Lieder"...

10. Wing-nut comics Colin Quinn and Nick DiPaolo are two examples of...
humor where people are often hurt or humilated.

Excellent observations.

8. A possibility
Having spent the first 29 years of my life in a region dominated by right wing assholes, I will hypothesize that their lack of creativity *may* be explained by one thing:

They are fuckwits. Really, really stupid fuckwits.

Now, I'm no scientist, but I suspect some causality here re: creativity.
