I was against this war because I remember from past wars just how horrible war can be.

I am so sorry for this young man's family.

I am also sorry for the families of the U.S. men and women who abused prisoners in Iraq. I am certain that these abusers will come back home with loads of problems that the families will have to live with. 6. I got this email today...

There are a number of web sites on the Internet that have the whole video
of the man getting his head cut off. Having viewed the video - you don't
want to watch it. I decided to watch it because it is what really
happened and it is the price of fighting a fraudulent war. But having
watched it I strongly recommend that you don't. It's enough to know that
the guy was beheaded alive and that it was not a quick death. I'm still
in shock as I write this.

Having said that - I think that every single member of Congress who
voted for the war and every one of those generals in the chain of
command who decided that torture was a good idea and let this happen -
they should all be forced to see the video - and see the results of what
happens when you have a clueless president. Had we gone after the real
terrorists instead of Saddam this would never have happened. We are on
the verge of losing this war because we have wasted our resources
fighting the wrong enemy. It's time we got out of Iraq - turn it over to
the UN - and go after Osama bin Laden. Let's go after the real
terrorists who actually cut the man's head off and were behind 9-11 instead.

Side note:

Having watched the video there's something else I noticed and it was in
the CNN video as well. You don't have to watch the whole tape to see it.

The terrorists who cut the guy's head off were WHITE! Even though their
faces were covered you can see that they are tall, stocky, and FAT. What
I see is an American style gut on these terrorists. They aren't the dark
thin lean muslim radicals you see in other bin Laden videos.

I don't know what to make of THAT but you look at it and you tell me
what YOU see. I'm still stunned. Seriously - you don't want to watch the
last 45 seconds of the video - seriously !!! You may THINK you want to
see it - but - you don't !!!

for me the "white" thing doesn't preclude the killers from being fundy al qaeda types.

For me the questions are:

1. why was he detained by US forces for so long
2. why wasn't he "deported" if they wanted him out of Iraq fast - why the circuitous route out
3. why given the immediate publicising of other kidnap victims - was this group of kidnappers quiet for so long
4. why does the video get seriously blurry when all it needs to be doing is panning down
5. why does the timer on the video skip
6. not as much blood as one would expect from a carotid injury - unless the victim was not alive when cut (no heart beat the blood wont pump put)

I'm not even going to begin to speculate who - Al Qaeda types have shown the brutality to do this so they could be the culprits but then again shadowy Americans working for US interests have also shown a history for this kind of brutality - who knows??

But from my limited knowledge I'd be happy to wage my own money that those are not Iraqi accents atleast.
