A call to not be distracted.
At this point, 10 minutes into reading the tit for tat opinions of those on either extreme of the Berg video from the true believers to the skeptics to the tinfoilers, I think it's clear we are being distracted from something very important.

Are there foreign thugs in Iraq and are they capable of heinous acts? Undoubtably.

Do we have any control over there actions? Not really.

Does their behavior reflect poorly on on as us as a nation and undermine our credibility? Not in the least bit.

So in keeping with that, let's remember that the entire world is still looking at the US in askance over abuses of prisoners, the majority of which are innocent of any crime, done in our name, by our troops.

That is something we DO have control over and it is something that we as a nation cannot afford to be distracted from because it reflects poorly on all of us and we owe it to ourselves if not the world to get to the very bottom of this.

Have the serenity to know the difference between what you CAN change and what you CANNOT change. Wringing our hands over something that is out of our control accomplishes nothing. Let's focus on what we can control.

1. one thing all this scandal and now the murder HAS done
is take the casualty counts off the front pages. We have servicemen and women still dying daily and it sure isn't be reported above the fold any more.

2. it's one thing after another
I was just posting yesterday about "what" was going to distract from the torture pictures. That's my main reason for doubting that the AL- Queda did it. I'm very skeptical. People outraged and ashamed of AMerica can now turn to hatred and revengeful thoughts towards the Arabs. Even here we are so easily spun. We are being played no doubt about it. That is what we should be paying attention to how they are so nicely playing us all. It's a kind of psycological attack.

3. yes, WE NEED CONTROL OVER our PEOPLE.
And I am not going to be distracted from Plame, Cheney energy papers,9/11 investigation, fake labor reports, BBV,anthrax killers, withdrawing from NAFTA and the WTO,Sharon/Liberman/Bush ploys on Palestine,...

If they think that anything short of WWIII will distract me from the terrorists of the Bush administration, they got another think comin'.
