Why was Daniel Pearl video ignored...
...while this Berg video is being widely shown?

Is it because the Pearl killers were Al-Qaeda from Pakistan (the most favored non-NATO ally), while Iraqi killers are just plain raqis?

BTW, for those who dont know about the Daniel Pearl incident, Pearl was beheaded in Karachi by his captors, and the video showed everything...

1. I don't think it was ignored
it was available on the internet, just like the Berg killing is. No network will show either video.

2. From what I understand, those who committed this crime against Berg
aren't plain Iraqi's. Right now they are saying it is Al-Qaeda and Zarqoui. Maybe that makes it more newsworthy?

9. I think you are right...
...the guys who beheaded Berg talked about Musharraf being a traitor.

Why would a plain Iraqi mention this?

There is probably some connection between Pearl and Berg killers.

11. I know it was mentioned in the press...
...but the links to the beheading were extremely hard to find. The links to Berg's beheading are floating around everywhere...mostly conservative forums, and websites.

4. That's an excellent question.
I never saw the Daniel Pearl video when that story was all the rage.

Interesting to think about...

6. I can tell you why I didn't see it. I didn't even know about DU.

I did a lot on the net, but even now, if it were up to me, I wouldn't have a clue where to find that beheading video link.

At least in my case, I know more because of all the great info on DU.

BTW, I did pay attention to the part of that Pearl video they did show on TV.

7. Agree with you there.
It was only here that I found a link that actually works to view the Berg video. DU is great in providing a lot of resources from its contributors.

8. I watched it
and that is why I won't watch this one. I wish I hadn't watched the Pearl video. It still haunts me. I mean, I knew people did bad things, but man...

10. There were links all over
the internet at the time and I do believe CBS actually played the video at one point. I wouldn't exactly say it was ignored.

However, the real story behind it was ignored -- that Pearl was hot on the trail of Al Qaeda-ISI connections, and that neither the CIA/US Govt, nor the ISI wanted such info released.

12. It wasn't ignored, you can download it easily on Kazaa
Meaning lots of people are still sharing it and know about it.
